Provider Security Reminder/Warning

It has come to my attention that in some areas of the country there have been recent incidents of imposters using the Handel of an established Hobbyist to book an appointment.  Then when the guy leaves the provider finds the envelope is empty.  Although this has perhaps occurred in the L.A. area, I have not caught wind of it in L.A. yet.  But this has been going on in certain other areas.  I also was told second hand that some guy did something similar on P411.

Basically the way these providers got set up is they did not have the guy either PM them through TER, schedule through the P411 system, or have the guy confirm himself through DateCheck such as adding the provider to his fan club or other means.  Just like a lot of us have a no reviews, no deal policy, providers should have a no handle confirmation through one of the networks, no deal policy.

Besides just getting ripped off, slipping up like that could have a much worse result since guys that have been blacklisted all over the place could use the same trick.

It's best that providers and clients alike remain super vigilant right now, as we draw closer to an election. Let's all have Xmas in July- make our lists and check them twice (or more) :)
Thanks again, Teddy.

harassers who lurked and stalked locations at times pretending to be LE to chase clients away to get into the KAMP get serviced and leave without paying.

Dont even mention that guy......I think I missed him by five minutes when he was bothering that one provider. The fear in her face was palpable and it was sad to see her go through that because of an asshole like him and his kind.

He frequented more than one location. I recall hearing about him by a pm from a bro , later a couple of others bros came face to face with him in WLA and SM . Unfortunately he and his clones still persist.

In general there is usually not a need to go into excessive detail in reviews about how any donations are taken care of.  This is information such people can use to try and select a provider who would be easier to pull this trick on.

i do not ever meet someone that i have not met in person at a meet & great.  if you are contacted by "gilxner" and have not met me personally, it is not me.

and vice versa....If I met you at a meet and greet and I called myself Beemer...that aint me....

This happens more than is realized. I've had several emails from people claiming to be certain hobbyist (strong review history and whitelisted) but their email doesn't match the handle. Usually they say they've lost the password or forgot what email address they used. I originally would PM the handle they claimed was their's and if I got no answer, that told me enough. On one occassion the hobbyist wrote back and sort of joked that I might be trying to contact hobbyist to gain some business. After a quick explanation he understood that such was not the case. Now I ask the person emailing me to send a PM from their handle.  But yes, this happens at least twice a month.

That says..."Your account may have been compromised.  Pleaes contact us immediatel with regard to this matter, followed typically by a bogus hyperlink to a page that LOOKS legit, but is just a Trojan horse to get you to put in your login information.

In those cases, whenever I get some kinda email iike that, I just pick up the phone and call my card company directly, or I log into their public website.

I NEVER click on the links in an email.  More often than not, it's bullshit.

Same thing with people calling you on the phone saying they can take a check by phone.  Seriously...do they think that I would just do a pay by phone simply because they SAID they are from some bank or institution?
