I prefer a phone that uses Verizon. Last year I tried AT@T for a while and the connections were crap. T-Mobile can also be good depending on your area.

Do most of the guys out there use a hobby phone? If so what kind?

ow a days you can get them even at your local drugstore for about $ 20. They are the old school flip phone (remember those lol) small enough to fit practically anywhere and you can text as well and they offer pictures, you buy a pre paid phone card with it, and done. I would recommend a reputable service as AT&T or Verizon to get great service, especially when traveling.
