It has been considered "normal" for hundreds of years, especially during the turn of the 20th century when men of means took take wives that were 20-30 years younger then them.  Where do you think all of the rich widows who were talked about during that time period came from?  I have been to a few marriages of wealthy men who married retired providers and it seems to work pretty well for everyone involved.  One is going on four years, and they are still very much in love and the marriage is solid as can be.  They just both have to learn to avoid recriminations about the time period she was a working girl.  If they bury the past, marriage counselors will not be able to interfere in their happiness as they do with so many others.  

 
The girl's perspective is irrelevant.  He proposes the "deal" and she takes it or leaves it.  If she leaves it, there will be ten more standing in line for a shot at the same rich guy.  He will get the deal on HIS own terms sooner or later.  Any girl that passes on an opportunity like  this will live to regret it.  

 
Since you know virtually nothing about this subject, but feel compelled to argue  anyway, let me disabuse you of ONE major misconception of yours and many others.  There is almost ALWAYS a pre-nup with guys like this.  He will not lose his yacht, perhaps just his dinghy.  "Rich guys are dumb" is just something poor people say out of jealousy and envy.  Guys don't get rich by being dumb unless their money was entirely inherited.
