have run into providers in public on a couple of occasions...As a rule you should never approach them ...they have real lives and those lives generally don't include us.
In my instances one winked and kept going and the other looked right through me...No offense taken by me..they were both with friends Conversely, any provider would know better than to approach a past client client in public unless they were absolutely sure that the client was alone and then only after given some "High Sign" ..you know smile, nod something...some acknowledgement I guess.. just my 2 cent
Have you ever run into a client in 'the real world?' If so what did you do? If not, how would you handle it? Would your answer change if the client was with their SO, alone, or with work colleagues?
What if you recognized the client, but they didn't recognize you (because, of course, you're 'out of context')? Would you approach them as you, and chat them up? Ignore them? Feel offended?

I once made an appointment and when i got the location, realized she lived in the same apartment complex as me, about 6 doors away! I had to wait before going there because I would have been there too soon. A couple weeks later I saw her in our resident gym. I left after a really short workout
I once saw an ATF at the same gate as my SO at LAX. I called her and discovered they were on the same flight.
Oh yeah. The airport seems to be my sweet spot. I don't travel as often as I used to, but it's happened a few times. Gents are generally excited. Doesn't bother me as much, but I'm very laid back too. I am always solo, but I'm sure I could easily finesse if I was not. I met a lady who saw a Gent in another Country. For the ladies who jet set I'm not seeing how it's avoidable.
I respect privacy & nothing is worse, than shopping at a store with your family and having some dumb ass call me by my provider name, or even worse my identical twins name. I was visiting mi familia in AZ last year shopping at a local store when this man whom I have never met insisted I knew him & I politely told him we have never met. He worked at the store. He told me we had sessioned & my name was Goddess Jezebel. WTF!
I had my baby with me & I thought this was the most disrespectful guy ever. I told him he had made an error because I have an identical twin, so again we have never met. Do not approach a provider ever with her kids, or family present this is rude. I prefer if I do know you personally to just smile, or wink & keep it moving. Not everyone needs to know our business.
I was with a client at a small 5 Star resort on St Bart's , on the second day he recognized his ex's brother there with his family. He said the look on their faces was priceless when they saw him applying tanning oil to me on the beach ( topless )
As for seeing me in public, a wink is ok,....... approaching me.... Please no !
I had a stripper friend who I used to see outside her club. We lived in the same general area and both were married with kids. One day I was at the mall with my whole family when my stripper friend suddenly appeared right in front of me with her hubby and child. After making eye contact we both quickly looked away and moved on. And then we had a good laugh about it later!
