Here's an article about thigh gaps from the wonderful, late president of the National Eating Disorders Association, Lynn Grefe. Thigh gaps are not common outside of the small percentage of women genetically predisposed to small bone structure, and who have specific pelvic formation/tendon lengths.

An attraction to a thigh gap is bizarre and an unhealthy endorsement of awful beauty standards. I also hope you realize that most pics featuring women with thigh gaps are photoshopped or shot a specific angle to create one artificially.

Some girls are thin by gennetics. I'm a natural 32ddd. I have to buy bras at specialty shops. I'm a size 2 soaking wet. I have a thigh gap.it's not uncommon. Don't fat shame and don't thin shame.
I am saying that attraction to a look often only achievable through unhealthy means (and it *is* uncommon, if the average American woman is a size 14) and around which there has been a lot of 'thinspiration' and pro-ED rhetoric is problematic. As if there isn't enough fatphobia and weight-based stigma/weight-based misogyny in this hobby, the last thing we need is to see the 'thigh gap' thinspiration trend replicated here.
I saw one girl today that had a nice gap. She looked sexy as she was very thin so it looked great on her. But that was the only thing that was appealing about her....the session totally suck and it had to be one of the worse experiences that I've had......
