Hello Alexandra,
I just gave similar info on another thread, so apologies if you've already seen this:

General rule of thumb in LA is to stay west of the 405 freeway or north of the 10.  The area around LAX is always a safe bet - lots of secure hotels and accessible from all points of the city.  Not a lot of fun or nightlife though if you're looking to experience that while here.

Santa Monica has the high end shops and good restaurants, but in my opinion is a bit overrated and not as accessible.
The upscale "strip" from Westwood to Beverly Hills and Hollywood has a lot of trendy spots and allow you more tourist fun if that interests you while here.  You may also attract a higher-end client in that area but again access from other parts of the city could be a problem.  Depending on the time of day it could take over an hour just to arrive from 8-10 miles away.

Long Beach is a great spot in my opinion.  It's a hike from the major LA tourist spots and the fashionable Westside  but is a chill area and will also allow you to draw clients from upscale parts of Orange County.  There's a good range of hotels and parking , plus an assortment of unpretentious "locals bars" and of restaurants to offer you variety while here.

I suggest posting ads on both the LA and Orange County boards and see what kind of response you get from different areas.  Wherever you stay, I hope you have a great experience in my home town.

Thank you so much for the information. It greatly helps to choose the right spot to stay ;)
It feels like if I choose West Hollywood- I won’t make a mistake.
And the Next time I will try Long Island… I never even considered it as a possibility.
