I always open the door with a HUGE smile on my face, give a warm hug and a sweet kiss. From there, we usually discuss common interests, and basic small talk type topics as weather, music, hobbies, work, etc. I am more than happy to engage in talk of any subject, but  usually after a few minutes it is time to play:) For longer dates when time permits, it's enjoyable to share a glass of wine or drink of choice with a wider variety of topics....

What do you do to break the ice for the first encounter?

Small talk? If so, are we just discussing the weather? Or the traffic of LA?

Taking or offering a refreshment?

Give up a hug and kiss. Compliment the place or the pet with some light touching. Maybe a little Vino. I am generally very comfortable meeting beautiful women now. But I do like Ghost's "Come sit on my face" approach for the more aggressive providers.

Most providers are very engaging so, no worries there.
Here we go:
"You look great". Women love compliments.
Next:  A Deep Kiss.  Then on to the bedroom.
Most guys are not up to chatting too much.

Exchanging emails before the meeting, is also a good way to determine if you are compatible.
