She might not have done it on purpose. LinkedIn has a feature to add people via ones email address or multiple email address. I personally have never used that feature but many may not realize how it actually works and that's probably what happened.
I've been on LinkedIn for over 6 years via an LLC I once had LuckyEntertainment. I don't use it for anything but I can tell you, I get many requests daily for me to add them. If they look legit enough I'll add. But, if I see a naked pic of any sort on their profile I'll decline, male or female. I might log in once every other month to add the requests but its pretty useless to me unless I need it to help verify a potential guests but that's only happened maybe 3 times in all those years. I've found where gents have tried to book me via LinkedIn but since I don't use it on a regular basis I don't get their message til weeks later.
I've had clients try to add me on LinkedIn and it freaked me out because I thought there was a fake profile of me out there or something. Most of them were invitations for me to join LinkedIn but still totally weirded me out!
LinkedIn does this aggressive invites "feature" even if the linked in member doesn't know about it. Somehow if you've shared emails with someone with a linked-in account. Linked-in looks at the email addresses the linked-in member received then sends uninitiated "invites".
I think they are doing the same crap Facebook does If log in your e mail They instal cookies in your computer Steal your adress book and send messages everywhere in your adress book That why is Better keep your fun hobbie e mail ...separate then your personal e mail..
She had your email address in a contacts folder. Linked In's trick is they raid your contacts and send out automatic invites to EVERYBODY in that folder.
When you sign up for a Linked In account, buried deep in the terms and conditions is your permission for them to harvest addresses.
On my hobby email account, i think i have at least a dozen requests to join from various providers.
emails from gents and also from other providers about connecting with them on LinkedIn. I am not on LinkedIn I just delete those emails or make them as spam.
