Thanks for sharing! xoxo

After WWII, they were stigmatized because so many Germans had used them during the occupation. Of course, a lot of German soldiers were put out of action from the VD they contracted in these establishments, so they were kind of a resistance movement.

Prostitution and the military have always been associated with each other. You get a bunch of young men together with no women to restrain their social behavior and the end result is a lot of men in search of action. Add in the little detail of possible imminent death or permanent disability in a hellish war zone, and you wonder how well survivors were able to resume domesticated life after war's end.

I was just talking about that the other day!! How Ironic... :)

This is a little article about the Golden Age of brothels in France: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1175836/Sleeping-enemy-How-horizontal-collaborators-Paris-brothels-enjoyed-golden-age-entertaining-Hitlers-troops.html

Interestingly enough, I have heard that France is not all that receptive to escorting now, primarily because of the feminist movement (that's from one source). Germany is another story, though. Lots of activity there.

Germany is where all of the freaks are! Well I am German and I am right here :) So I guess all of the freaks are not there. !!

I was just in the French-speaking part of Belgium and there were several brothels...although all in the middle of nowhere (Waterloo for example).

Despite having a large French-speaking population, Belgium is a separate country from France, so it has its own laws. Technically, though, brothels are illegal, even if the law overlooks that. Brothels are illegal in a few Eastern European countries, but I didn't have much of a problem finding them.

...Did you see their names  -- "Jack Wood" and "Eddie Bigwood."  ;-) (Being juvenile keeps me young)
