Opinions requested: mass provider texts regarding specials

I got a text yesterday from an otherwise great provider I've seen before listing $50 off specials and a 15 minute(!) rate for returning clients urging me to book quickly as all available slots will quickly fill up.  Then she signed with her porn name.

My question is, what does everyone think of this?  I personally don't want explicit unsolicited texts like this.  I have considered getting a separate phone for hobbying but would rather not though I see its appeal in situations like this.

Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE.

Sure, one could argue the case for a separate phone, but Provider has no idea what someone's individual situation is. Even with a separate phone, one could be in mixed company during a compromising text.

I couldn't agree more.  I'm very careful with my hobbying, and practice very safe texting, searching, etc.  For the hobby I use a separate private email account.  Last thing I'd want is a text like this showing up at dinner time.  Yikes.

i wouldnt be so quick to say Unacceptable - did you text her from that number?  Did you text her for purposes other than setting up a date?  because once you start a dialog with her how is she to know not to reach out to you unless you were specific in saying "don't contact me unless I contact you."

I receive texts from Ladies all the time - its part of the alluire - "hey haven't seen you in a while etc."  I don't find it a problem

One word - COMMUNICATION - be specific with a lady about how you want communication to work.  if you reach out to them, you cant expect them to not reach out to you

just a different perspective

She wouldn't be texting you if you didn't contact her
with that number.
Maybe you shouldn't contact her either.
She may be having dinner with her family too.
What do you expect???

I expect discretion.  The same as I always give to the ladies I contact.

I have texted her from my number but only for the purposes of setting up a date.

I don't mind getting texts from ladies who happen to be providers.  I have much more of an issue with the obviously lurid details in this particular mass-marketed text.

Just 1 reason to communicate through email DISCREETLY.

Hobby phone . . .

I have never understood the whole contacting clients thing..I don't ever consider contacting a ' friend /client' asking or soliciting anything!  I guess I'm just strange? Lol And 15 min... Woah..just sayin..lol

Didn't see the 'two words' reply yet.. But, I was thinking one word is enough..

Didn't

getting text messages from ladies. It's kind of a turn-on, actually. But then again, I am single and I have a password-protected hobby phone that no one ever sees but me.

These text messages must work, because providers keep doing it. I will admit, it has worked on me occasionally. :)

so not discrete.hopefully you gave her some constructive critisism and let her know that texting things like that is not always appricated and to remove your number on future mass texts

Unless he sent a text to me first.  I send an email if anything, and never a MASS email.

Another thing, not sure who has the IPhone 4s, but with mine, when someone sends a mass text, I receive EVERYONE'S number and if I respond it goes back to EVERYONE.  BAD BAD BAD!

at least these two professional HIGHLY REVIEWED providers  have it right. Any form of unsolicited communication, whether it be texts or emails is one of the quickest ways for a provider to lose my business.
