I like the fact that...

I can scroll down the discussion page and no see ads. So, that is good.

Conversely, I don't think I have looked at the LA ad board more than twice with a purpose in mind - just to see the number of views.

I still get most of my 'interest' from info that pops up on the discussion board.

but that's me,  .o2

Its much more quiet now about the whole ad boards, added boards, more clicks. etc etc etc :] Just an observation :]

I find it extremely less interesting. The ads didn't bother me. I think there was some friction before between the interest of both client and provider and that friction was titillating at least and not annoying. I mean some of the same providers are finding subjects to post that promote themselves. Now, these posts are so transparently not sexy and I honestly think twice about visiting them where before I was never suspicious of these ladies but felt every now and then I found useful information about them visiting etc etc. Don't get me wrong I am all for the interaction between both providers and clients. I seriously felt a little patronized like ter members were too dumb to differentiate between a provider posting an ad and ter member post. It just seems like the ad boards are less diverse than before too.

but the LA board seems to be more lively and more people seem to be participating . In the absence of the ads which used to drown discussion threads , threads remain longer on the first two pages resulting in more views and greater opportunity to participate.

We still have the usual Taliban arrow throwers hiding behind the skirt of their aliases.

The success or failure of the site depends on the extents the LA TER community are willing to post and participate in the discussion.

It seems better now with no ads...but for a board like Orange County the change was a killer...zero activity there.

Instead of crusing 3 boards, I have to cruise 5 boards.
And like digital said, the OC board was killed.  As some ladies mentioned to me, it is affecting them down there.

There are longer threads now on the discussion boards which requires you to do more scanning for threads that interest you.

We need a variety of discussion topics to keep this board going.  Feels like the damage has been done but only time will tell.
