Hey guys

I am thinking of coming to LA for a visit. I have never been there before and I am excited ; I am also nervous. I do not know what area's are good to stay at as well as I could use some suggestions for hotels.

Lastly since i am being super needy can any one tell me good sites to advertise my visit in LA

thanks for the help

Hello Adeline,
General rule of thumb in LA is to stay west of the 405 freeway or north of the 10.  The area around LAX is always a safe bet - lots of secure hotels and easily accessible from all points of the city.  Not a lot of fun or nightlife though if you're looking to experience that while here.

Santa Monica has the high end shops and good restaurants, but in my opinion is a bit overrated and not as accessible. Beverly Hills and Hollywood will allow you to have some tourist fun while here and may attract a higher-end client, but accessibility from all points would be my concern.

Long Beach is a great spot in my opinion.  It's a hike from the major LA tourist spots and the fashionable Westside  but is a chill area and will also allow you to draw clients from northern Orange County.  It has unpretentious "locals bars" and a decent range of restaurants to offer you variety while here.

PM me if you'd like more specific suggestions on hotels and such.  Wherever you stay, I hope you have a great experience in my home town.

Hi Adeline! Ideal spots are more centralized to be accessible to more potential clients. Also, you will want to be in nicer areas because that's where the money trail and more well behaved men will be. Mid City/Mid-Wilshire, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywood are all great locations. Avoid downtown LA if you can because parking is hard and can turn some clients away.

....in the South Bay, Long Beach, North OC areas. Personally I hate the traffic and parking issues associated with the general WLA and BH areas. DTLA is also a headache with traffic and parking.

You'll find that LA is huge and very spread out. Most Angelenos are used to driving to get to where they want to be. Unless you're willing to split up your visit across multiple areas, you will have to pick a spot and see how it goes.

There are lots of good hotels east of the 405 freeway. If you want some names of good hotels in Wilshire Fairfax area which is convenient for everybody, just messaged me back and I’ll give you some hotel names.
