After striking out with six providers late one night last week, I called someone I knew nothing about. The girl sounded reasonable, though it seemed obvious she was driving to the place from somewhere relatively far away. Once at the hotel, I felt wary about her being a cash-and-dasher, but she agreed to leave the money on a counter where I could see it until we were done. She offered a shower, which I accepted, on the condition she come with. Well, no sooner did I get in the shower and begin rinsing than she quietly and immediately vanished. I could still see the money, though, so I just grabbed a towel and went back into the room...

Well, despite seizing the cash and my clothes, I didn't make it to the door before being surrounded and knocked around. I figured the money was worth less than lasting physical damage, so I surrendered the cash, cursed them out, and left. It figures after over 15 years of hobbying, the law of large numbers would sooner or later lead to something like this....

WoW though, how is it after 15 yrs hobbying you would make such a grand mistake as too going on backpage and calling someone you dont know or have any research on?
I've seen lots of providers I didn't know or had no information about. The majority have turned out alright. Before this, the worst experience has been a couple of cash-and-dashers. Since then, when it seems suspicious, I've either left, sent them away, or insisted on keeping the payment in a visible place until the service is done. Lulled into overconfidence.
Called this girl between the time she posted and your notice. Got a little uncomfortable talking to her on the phone as she gave me the impression she was immediately free and willing to accomodate me whenever and whereever I was available right now. Seemed just a little too accomodating for a girl with her looks (if the pictures were real). So just at the last second on the phone I decided to back off and instead of giving her my location I told her I would call her back. Was just a intuitive reaction that in an exchange between a cute good looking girl and me; I should be the eager one.
Thanks for posting the information! I was feeling some regret and would likely have called against next time and been in troouble.
BTW; been in the hobby for a while and I've had both a cash and dash and a push and shove with a driver so the law of large numbers is real even for the most careful
