I can't even stand to walk past most of them in the store shelves.  And for some reason, most young guys think they need to bathe in the stuff.

I've had more women hug me and tell me how good I smelled than I can remember.  My secret, Lever 2000 soap and the "Powder Fresh" scent deodorant that either Arm & Hammer makes, or Degree.  The Degree used to be unisex, then they came out with a line of awful scents for men.  I stuck with the Powder Fresh scent and ignored the fact it was now only in the line for women.  The active ingredient is the same and, as the expression goes, chicks dig it.  

Maybe it plays on their maternal instinct, and instead of seeing a 6 ft., 225 lb. guy, the scent reminds them of someone who needs their tender loving.  Frankly, I don't care what the reason is, as long as it works.  And I think it works better with my body chemistry than it does with women, but we're all different so YMMV.
