I try to be discreet and will slip the extra donation under the white envelope that I have left either on the vanity in the bathroom or on a table or dresser/nightstand.

As someone that has many jobs where tipping

As someone who has many jobs where tipping was my main income. I think that after is appropriate for this business. Altho, as an ex bartender I use to have many patrons tip me big ahead. They did that knowing I'd make there drinks EXTRA strong or slide them a few without charging them. It worked and I did. They didn't need to do it ahead to get great service bc I'm service oriented and make sure all my customers had whatever they needed before they needed to ask. That is the only reasoning I can think of why someone would tip ahead in this biz but if she is service oriented and wants her clients to be pleased she is going to do that already without tipping ahead and just leave it after I think.

Such as CIM, Greek or into toys and other gadgets. Other then that, I don't tip. To tip someone making 4-600 and maybe 700 is like tipping your attorney or surgeon after you've seen them. I just don't get it. My way of "tipping" is that I come on time, never cancel, come clean and showered, be respectful and NEVER abuse her time. Isn't that enough???

a lady i had seen several times who had given me incredible service (and still does, thank you!) had arranged a double with her and her friend for me.

i left the friend's usual donation in an envelope for her, and then i put my lady's asking donation, plus an extra with a little post it note saying "thanks for everything" in the envelope for her.

don't know if she ever realized it was a tip, or not, but she always gave me the best service and i just saw her last month, and am happy to say her standards are still incredible.

... because I always tip in the envelope up front with a post it so the lady knows that I'm giving her extra.  I guess I've always figured it's a way the lady knows how much her service is appreciated and also a way for her to remember me for the future or when it comes to get a reference.

nice. A next repeat appointment is priceless, so they've told me.
