I visited with this lady three times.
Had a good time.  Not my ATF and probably not in my top five.
A couple of months go by she sends me emails and texts telling me that she missed me and wondering if I was mad at her.
I tell her no, just taking a break.
A few days later she calls me on my cell(in the middle of a busy day), wanting to know how I was doing.
I hung up on her and sent her an email,telling her that she should not attempt to call or email me until I ask her for a another visit.
Was I being too harsh?

You may have said it different , but the message should  have been the same. It is highly improper for a provider to call a client , without some kind of prior agreement, because she would not know where you are , what you are doing and who you are with.

Such unsolicited calls are an intrusive invasion of your privacy and you have  every right to be angry.

Emails and text messages without prior agreement are also a problem because she has no idea if they are fyeo or other people have access to your emails and phone.

Some of my regulars have my cell # and they are aware of sensitive hour  but they generally only text and we may fellow up phone calls

Providers often state they have a life , well so do clients , and such calls can unhinge that life.

One of the reasons I like to hobby, is that I don't want her to call me. When I get unsolicited calls/texts on my hobby phone, days can go by before I get them, then I  simply ignore. My hobby phone is only on when I'm hobbying, otherwise it's always off.   Most ladies figure things out pretty quickly.  One question, you said she called you on your cell, during the middle of a busy day. I hope you have a hobby phone and that you're not using your personal cell.  

I agree with Harpie - and yes, a good reason for Hobby phones and yes the rent is due soon. All comments right on the money.

When hobbling, it's on; when not, it's off.  NEVER EVER give a provider a real phone number or real name!  Never.  Ever.

You may be justified, but you're not being smart.  You gave an escort your personal phone number.  That is just so unwise and risky.  I'd think if the woman is attempting to contact you (and other clients) over and over again she may be having trouble making rent and is desperate.  Desperate people do ill-advised things.

Seriously, prepaid hobby phone.

I have been lucky to have not gotten burned before this incident.

Unfortunately I have to agree, that behavior was most certainly out of line for anyone in any line of work.  Your accountant doesn't call you to ask if you are mad at him because you haven't been in the office for a few months and neither does your hairdresser or your dry cleaners.  This is most certainly a slower month in the business, so I am assuming that in this case, the call/texts/emails were to re-connect and drum up some business.  

I do not think providers should be calling clients out of the blue and vice versa.   If you become friendly with each other and develop a different sort of relationship that transcends the typical provider-to-client dynamic, that is one thing.  However, such scenarios are rare and when that does happen, typically both parties have discussed appropriate times and methods for communicating.

I do not think you were being out of line by defining your boundaries.  We as providers do it all the time and you are entitled to do the same for yourself.

If it was just a couple of emails, I would say it isn't a big deal.  Emails are rather harmless and silent forms of communication.   (please be smart and have an email address that is solely for your hobbying)  However, guys, please do not think that every time a provider emails you after not having seen you for a couple of months, she is low on rent and wants your money.  I personally like to keep in touch with my clients and I will send a friendly "hello" email to those I have not seen in some time or those whose conversation I miss.  However, those do tend to be people that I have rapport with.

I would personally never call a client unless I was supposed to be meeting them within the hour and there was an emergency that came up.  Otherwise, I stick to emails and texting.  I have no idea whose company you might be in at the time I contact you (wife, boss, children) and I am certainly not going to put you or myself in any sort of awkward or potentially damaging position.  Plus, I hate the damn phone.

Uh yeah! I like it when they call/text/email. Makes me hard as a rock and I often wind up visiting within a day or two. It is indeed a good technique to drum up business. I'm sure it works or they wouldn't do it.

But, then again, I'm single and no one looks at my phone but me. If I were married, pretty sure I'd feel different!

If you really want to cover your tracks, pay cash for the phone and time card.  DON"T use your real name when registering the phone.
