Will be flying through LAX with a 5 hour layover and curious to know if anyone is a short ride away or if I'm just going to have to kill some time in the lounge.  Curious what the nearby options are, if any.  Thanks.

If you haven't received any PMs try doing a subject search on the LA ad board. Use LAX as the search for and set the days at least at 90 days. You should get local and touring providers

I did exactly the same post a year ago and I received several PM's.  
The lady I chose gets a hotel near LAX as an incall situation.  Hotel shuttle from the terminal  and I'm in like Flynn.  
She ended up being an ATF and I repeat every time I go through LAX,  which will be tomorrow.  Lucky Me!

My incall is about 25 minutes away from LAX, but I do book nice hotel suites at the airport on occasion, upon request.
