the proverbial "10' pole"? i must applaud you for your effort to broach this subject here. it is unfortunate that within this industry, such a personal and widespread area of content is probably the least, talked about.
it is nice to see someone with the nuts to keep the awareness current.
Would you tell your SO/ Civy partners and your client/ provider if you were to discover that you have been infected by a STD?
From time to time one hears about a provider being infected , I am certain there are even more hobbyists who are infected but other than the odd post or request for info on testing, the topic on the extent how common STD is in the hobby is rarely discussed and people sharing
their experiences appears to be mostly a taboo subject.
I recall sometime last summer, a frequent poster at the time stated he was infected and insinuating that it may have been from a provider. When I sent him a pm to ask if he contacted the provider, I found out he did not contact the provider ( a most popular talent ) or her Booker ( nor the other popular providers he had seen at the time) and instead, he asked me to do it so on his behalf, given that I knew them both better than him. Pretty callous & shocking to say the least.
How would as a provider/client react should you discover you are infected. Have you ever been notified by p4p partner. It would be interesting to know who lives up to their moral , social and in some cases moral responsibility .

Guys like that always amaze me. They go into something like this hobby and assume that all the responsibility belongs to the provider. What a chickenshit this guys was...( I have a feeling I know who you may be talking about and will confirm through PM).
I can only say that for those guys ACTIVELY seeking certain things, be careful what you wish for unless you are prepared for the consequences.
I am glad that the resources available on TER plus my own research has led me to a trouble free AND healthy hobbying.
Beemer
(Knock on wood it never does), but I decided that I'd make up a bogus e-mail and inform every client I'd been with since my last test. Of course, I'd hope were getting tested independently of STD notification, but obviously that's their business. I would definitely be honest with my civilian partners. I think a random e-mail would maintain some type of anonymity while still conveying necessary information.
I only hope others would do the same. Ignorance and dishonesty in this business are both very scary.
Not long ago a UTR girl I see sent me an email saying that she got something - trichomonaisis. Very mild, usually goes away on its own in a few weeks. She suggested I get checked out. Although I had no symptoms I did go to the after hours clinic and told the doc and he gave me a scrip just to be sure. He said I should abstain from any activity for a week. I never had any symptoms to speak of. I was very glad she told me.
I would certainly tell a provider if I came down with something.
To reiterate, it was NOT A KGIRL. Like I said, it was a UTR girl I see.
Your partner acted as a responsible adult. It is important that we owe each other certain human a civil courtesies that defines our principles , values and our moral character and integrity as men and women.
I would certainly tell a provider if I came down with something.

I commend adults for being responsible and informing their friends, clients, mistress, one night stand, etc. If all Call girls would get screened monthly and monitor their clients before encounter's. That would greatly reduce the infections..from client to call girl or civie to booty call or one nightstand. Ladies do you examine your clients before encounter's for rashes, bumps, suspicious discharge? I have a strict policy...Bathe with Hot water and Soap (anti-bacterial) before the deed. For those of us who depend on this for business never be afraid to turn away a client who smells funny. Also if he or she has something that make's you uncomfortable regardless if it's for pay or pleasure. Kindly take a pass or just do the good old fashioned.. Masturbation!!
Looking at Harpman's post, I saw the amount of hits he
has received but responses have been tepid to say the least. I am
curious to why is that? It does not seem like a dead horse issue as
any issue regarding health should be paramount. I am also surprised
that many providers have not chimed in. Many folks (including myself)
chime in regularly on the kgirl topics, but this actually surprised
me.
I would think that people would like to talk about things other than Kgirls but it may be that Kgirls DO make this board go round...
Although I've never contracted anything in 12 years of hobbying and countless BBBJ's, I have been notified by provider's when they had something or at least thought they had something. Likewise I contacted an ATF erroneously when I had a kidney stone....I think most people do communicate within the TER community.
i certainly do not wish to overstep my boundaries, given my novel status on the TER discussion boards. i comment, only in the interest of understanding how things work here. forgive my nescience regarding the kgirl reference, but i fail to understand its corellation to the subject and the other providers?
if your point was to question those who are quick to speak on the topic of kgirls, but whom are quiet now...then i, too, am surprised. what would be the appropriate number of responses? better yet, what would be considered an appropriate response by any provider?
yes, i emphatically agree that this subject, logically, should be one that denotes regular discussion. the health and well-being of ourselves and others should concern everyone. i feel that it is very much a concern for all of us who are involved in this industry.
from a providers' standpoint, it is more than just a topic for discussion on a board. there is no where else in society, that would ever look down on or even expect someone to publicly discuss their own health matters, let alone feel it is ok to judge them for choosing not to.
no matter how public we would like this subject to be, it is still about something very personal. i think the silence about this subject isnt surprising at all. an open board is a place where people can feel free to speak their opinions. although the topic itself should be discussed, most people would not want their opinions to be judged as actions.
the reality is, that you, i, and anyone who chooses to openly express even an opinion on this subject, are being judged right now.
are you really surprised that so many people keep their mouths shut?

Yes, actually I am surprised at people keeping their mouths shut. Some posters on here like to lament the fact that certain people tend to post too much about Kgirls (I would be in that guilty group) but then when great topics great brought up, they are silent as door knobs.
It is a personal subject but the power of this board is the anonymity it can give you. A curse and a blessing at the same time yes BUT nonetheless it can give someone the ability to express themselves on a personal level without revealing their identity.
I for one get myself tested monthly so I can freely admit to any of my partners that I am clean. Though I strictly limit myself to a certain group of providers, it should not matter. Health is an issue that involves everyone in the business. The idea that six degrees of separation is the connection that all human beings share so I would imagine that the level of separation in the hobby community in Los Angeles is even less.
What I appreciate is that the providers I see regularly DO tell me that have gotten their monthly check up and for that (and other reasons) they get my business.
So yes, I am honestly surprised about the lack of responses....
Beemer waiting for the storm......
i agree with all you say, except i am not surprised by the lack of response. anyone who has been around the hobby for a while sees that topics like this are often the least, spoken about. perhaps the few who continue to comment and keep this topic fresh, will someday open the door for more and more to do the same.
again, i applaud anyone for their efforts to do so.
This should be a no brianer for most on both sides, get tested frequently and if you did get something it is only fair to inform anyone you are intimate with of this fact. It probably should be discussed more often because this actually affects peoples lives. The hobby is great but it does have some risks. Glad that I have not had an issure with this all clear.

The internet is filled with so much bull shit these days? If adults Gay,Bi-sexual or Hetero-Sexual would practice common sense. Such as proper screening before sexual encounter's many STD/VD and HIV may be avoided from exposure. Everyone likes to blame Gays,Blacks and Hookers/CallGirls for the epidemic of Std,V.d and Hiv. Do you ask your partner's before encounter have you been tested? Hey what is that on your penis? Your vagina?.. Is that a rash to baby powder or something else? Listen up..if you are about to sleep with a person and they have a nasty foul discharge..Get the hell out of there! Just because your having a booty-call,one night stand or paying for sex. Doesn't mean you should take the leap!! Is it a generational thing or just a white thing? Let's be honest most human's 16yrs-40 years in age are more reckless than over 50 year olds. If a booty call is on her period would you risk possible HIV,Hep-b,Hep-c or Syphillis? Now if a Porn actress or Call girl was bleeding (cycle wise) you wouldn't screw her would you? The only woman you can have sex with that is bleeding during her cycle is your wife? Right? Girl friends maybe unless she has been tested for everything under the kitchen sink. Call girls/Hooker's should be screened every month and Never ever be afraid to tell a client to leave. I have turned down 4 potential clients before,,due to the fact that I found their behavior suspicious. Smelled a nasty odor from a penis discharge, a rash and a medicine cabinet alert to his HIV infection. Think, screen be safe!!
