Why do people omit their name when they email you?confused_smile

Isn't it common formality to introduce yourself, or sign your email with your name when contacting someone for the first time?  WHY do gents send an email, a paragraph long... and not include their name!?!  I don't understand...

I was reading the email thread regarding screening below, and noticed that one gent was angry and put off, when recieving an email addressed:

"Hey babe," or "Hey sweetie,"

Now I'm sure that he actually puts his name in his emails, but if a name is not included... how else should a lady address someone?  How about:  "Hey stranger, email me your name." lol  This frustrates me... *sigh...

I always add my name.  For me it's part of letting the girl know I'm on the level and not just trolling.  It's still a relationship when all is said and done, so why shouldn't you?

And yeah, I hate the 'sweetie' or 'babe' terms too, but I don't rail against them.  

Now on here... I'm not leaving my name!  ;)
