Hey, y'all!  
 
I'll be in LA soon, and was really looking forward to spending a lot of time at the beach, but it looks like it will be overcast all weekend :-(  
 
I'd love to get recommendations for neat places to check out!  

I just turned 21 last month, so I'm particularly excited about the bar scene. I like divey, casual, laid-back, unpretentious places.... Pubs with good food are always a favorite. Preferably in the South Bay / Santa Monica areas.  
 
Any info is appreciated!

In Hermosa Beach, check out The North End.  They have food there.  I'm not down there much, so my dive bar knowledge is lacking in the area.  

On the westside, my favorite dive bars are:  
The Gaslite. karaoke every night
Hinanos Cafe  

Pubs: O'Brien's and Finn McCool's, both on Main Street.

Back to dive bars not far from Santa Monica. Culver City:
Cozy Inn
The Tattle Tale Room
Scarlet Lady Saloon

Mar Vista:
Lost and Found (new favorite of mine!)

Playa del Rey:
Prince O'Whales
Harbor Room (Very small bar. Wherever you're staying is bigger than this place.)
