I was in a large complex and the directions came in 4 text messages. It was difficult to remember all the directions, so I ended up having to pull my phone out of my pocket several times, and I still got lost. If it's just a matter of remembering the code and the room number, I have no problem, but some of these places are mazes.
Referring to a previous post that mentioned hobbyists walking the hallways with their cell phones out and attracting attention. Why do the cell phones have to be out in the first place? Why aren't you just texting and memorizing a three digit code and then a three digit apartment number? I've been doing that for years and can't imagine doing it any other way. Do you really need to have a conversation on your way up the elevator. Seems like a simple text such as the ones I get (123/456) is simple enough to remember as we take that journey into the halls of ecstasy. I'm older than most of you and if I can remember it why can't we all? Just saying.....
the majority of mongers don't frequent this board and are insensitive to sticking out like a sore thumb. I dont think the safety issue ever occurs to them. Then you have those who think being discreet does not apply to them, and have no problem being reckless. Some guys can't contain their excitement or suppress their expressions at the prospect of seeing a K-doll making their wobbly knees bend like rubber and brains melt like lard.
Management is some of these complexes might be in on the game, but I am sure most aren't and when they see the loitering at the entrance and the constant parade in the corridors they take action ( see post below from last year)
We are having too much or a good thing the K-doll bubble may end up as disastrous as the South Sea Bubble.
Is a real problem if you ask me.....this has happened at one of our hot spots a few times in the recent past...this causes johns to loiter around the front gate hoping for somebody to let them in....And to me even worse is the doll coming out to pick the john up....if that is done by the same doll several times in a day with different men each time, that really looks obvious.....
I do have to say while I agree that it is easy enough to memorize the door and room numbers, I also have to agree that texting or quite frankly doing anything on your phone in this day and age is perfectly normal. If one is paying attention at all, it is pretty easy to see the string of johns that just don't quite fit in at these complexes.....I can almost always spot them.....there are exceptions as the younger johns are less suspicious looking in these places.
I recall towards the end of 2009 at a former well known hotspot near Bixel and 110 where among other the Twins worked where for time the entrance intercom was not working and one had to bend and stick ones hand through a loose wooden panel to open the door from the inside. Once that was fixed one of the K-dolls ( Kimmy came down to fetch me twice) would come down to let you in , in front of tenants or guests who seemed to congregate in the lobby.

That has happened to me only once in the past 2 years. It was at a well-known DTLA location. And you know what the booker told me? "Just wait for someone to let you in." Ugh!
As I mentioned in a previous post I own a fairly large apartment building in Mid City LA. I get a call from a busy body tenant that the "oriental" girl next door is up to no good. She is entertaining underage high school boys after school. when school gets out around 3:00-3:30 a parade of young High school boys are in and out of the apartment every 30-60 minutes. Some are actually showing up with cash in their hands.
I told her to mind her own business. After numerous calls from her she threatened to call the police claiming I was probably in on it. At this point I took action. I staked out the building sitting in my car and watching the action. Guess what, she was she was right. Young boys were in and out of this apartment every 30-60 min some showing up with money in their hands. Some were locking up their bicycles on the railing below when they went in, most caring back packs. At this point I was concerned.
On day two of my stake out i decided t hang out around the building and ask some questions. All of a sudden a Mercedes pulls up and and a young boy jumps out with $50.00in his hand and heads up to the unit in question. I walked up to the driver of the car and confronted the driver. the drive was the boys mother and he was being dropped off for algebra tutoring. Which made sense because the tenant was an LA Unified School teacher.
My point is these busy bodies can drive you crazy. Imagine what they can do if something sinister is going on. That is why when I go to these buildings, (we all know which ones they are) I act like I belong. I assure you that the management of these buildings are getting lots of complaints. It's just a matter of time before they take action. Like I said before, we are guests, visiting friends. Let's act the part.
I once had a white chick enter the front door and go up the elevator at the same time as me - and as she talked on her on her cellphone. I hung behind and saw across the interior courtyard as she knocked on a door, which I knew from past visits as one I was on my way to. I'm wondering wtf? I don't recall, but I think the door was opened a crack in response to her knock. The chick walked away laughing at her mistake while still talking on the phone and apparently being directed to the correct apartment she was on her way to visit.
Went up the same elevator with another guy once wonderng if he was a monger. Off the elevator and I took a right and he went left, so I figured he's not going where I'm going, but he just didn't know the most direct route around the courtyard. I walked past the door and pasted him and saw he was going to the same place as me. I gave enough time for him to get in and shoes off before going back to knock (actually one finger, single tap). Wished the ladies had gotten crossed up by the near simultaneous arrivals because I'd have rather had the one he got rather then the one I actually booked.
Couple of years ago I go to see a Thai provider I'd seen twice before. There are two girls in the apt. I'm in one room with one girl. She's sucked and fucked me and I'm figuratively if not literally smoking the proverbial post-coital cigarette.
Then, I hear some one in the living room loudly asking the other girl about "happy ending!" The banter is so obviously LE that I QUICKLY dress, flush the condom, toss her stash of condoms out the window and walk out....
Three LAPD stop me and ID themselves and ask me a few questions. I tell them I got a massage, period. They search the room, see no sign of sex - i.e., no condoms - and eventually let me go! HOLY SHIT was that close!
The point is, I try only to see solo operators because while I'm pretty sure the bookers don't share my play phone number with LE, I can't be sure about the guy who left his shoes out in the living room with mine. Walking around the halls with a cell phone may eventually attract the interest of John Law, but they've got to get the direct goods to make the bust, and that's the TPO (time and place of occurrence - hey, I watch Law and Order) where you DON'T want to be......
You never really know why someone has a lot of visitors. Could be anything. A couple of years ago, I decided to take Japanese lessons after my company was acquired by a Japanese firm. I found a young lady in Hollywood who had a very reasonable rate and, after a few coffee shop meetings, we started meeting at her place. Yeah, she was very attractive and, yeah, I usually stayed there for exactly one hour. That may have looked suspicious, but I was just going there for Japanese lessons, and she had several other clients who did the same thing.
Now, I did wind up banging her later on, but it wasn't P4P. It was just good ol' free style banging. But I suppose she could have been accused of certain things, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if her neighbors were a little bit suspicious of her.

By the time the text comes with the necessary numbers attached, all the blood flow transfers from one head to the other. impossible to remember even your own apartment number at that point.
face buried in a cell phone. I don't feel looking at a cell phone constantly signals anything more than that person just can't put that thing down for a minute. Although, it definitely can be a physical safety issue if you've ever seen videos of people walking into things or falling because they pay more attention to what's on their phone over their surroundings.
Sure, it should be easy to memorize a few numbers, but just recently, I thought I did just that. I'm usually paranoid that I'll forget the number, so I'll check a few times just to make sure. So, I went to let's say, apt. #286. Just before I got to the door, I checked my text again and the number was actually 236. I was so glad that I checked, but that's just me. First time, I ever headed to the wrong door. Incidentally, when leaving this provider I declined a bottle of water to go. Not to avoid suspicion, but I just didn't want any more water. When walking to my car I saw a ledge with two bottles of water that were obviously (to me) left behind by previous clients. In my opinion, different guys leaving behind the same item seems suspicious. And, I bet they weren't wearing gloves.
Recently, I was going to my buddy's girlfriend's apartment. I know where she lives, but I don't go there a lot. She texted me to come by (my buddy was there) and gave me her access code. So, naturally, I go to the door and while standing there I looked up the code on my phone to buzz myself in. Totally legit reason to be there. Same thing could happen at any of the buildings that some of us frequent.
Looking at cell phones, to me isn't an issue. A steady stream of guys coming and going to a particular place, definitely raises a flag. And, I agree, milling around OUTSIDE the gate is a no no. Wait in the car, memorize numbers, call at gate, look like you own the place or belong. Being lost isn't a big deal. You could be meeting someone to buy a stereo or bike from craigslist, so you wouldn't know the building if you've never been there before.
Haven't we all been lost or confused going to see a friend or a civvie date whose place you haven't been to before or very often? If that happens, you might be on the phone with them the whole way guiding you to the their door.
I was at a Santa Monica complex in the summer with 2 indentical unit# across a narrow internal courtyard. Had to get out my cell phone,and text for the right one. The intercom at a downtown complex never worked over a 2-3 year period,and I always had to wait for someone to open the door,so I could get to the 3rd or 4th flooor. I was always worried it would be a slow period and nobody would come or go.
