which is why you should take a break from this.  Its even better you recognized this change in your hobby attitude than having it brought to your attention in another way.  We all start out like a kid in a candy store but as time goes by, the euphoria goes down.  

Take some time away from this and do some other things that interest you or you have been wanting to do.  When you get the urge to hobby again, see someone you connected with.  

The key to this hobby is connection and moderation.

so i was wondering can a guy just get tired of having sex?

you know when i started hobbying i thought it was the greatest thing ever.  first time i was nervous and exicted as hell...having sex with hot girls, doing sex acts i couldnt do with a civie girl, fear of possibly getting arrested, and even getting herpes or something.    but now after seeing over 100 different women...i feel like i don't care if i even see a provider.  having sex seems like just eh..  like im taking out the trash or watching tv.  just monotonous boring work.  

i mean the girls are just becoming a blur.  i can't even remember most of the girls i had sex with.

i don't even want to have a relationship with them anymore.  before i was so exicted on dating a provider but after doing it and seeing how they live and meeting the people in it.  i don't even know why i was so excited to even go out or even learn about the industry.

now when a provider asks for my number i don't give it or if i bump into them in the civie world, i'm not scared or embarrassed but just end up just looking at them and feeling sorry about them.  like i have any right to judge them.  but i like think what happened in their life that they had to resort to spreading their legs to make a living.  im sure it wasn't their dream growing up.  

am i having a midlife crisis? or having clinical depression?  is burning out the norm?

any comments are welcome.  maybe i might have to see a shrink or something.

Very insightful posting. People sometimes say, you need a little excitement in your life. The problem is, this was the excitement in your life, and now like lots of other aspects of people's lives, it has become routine and boring for you. I can't tell you how to make hobbling more exciting again, I only have one provider under my belt (literally and figuratively), but you do need to change it up some.  Good luck.

Sounds like you need to take a sabbatical from hobbying. Smart idea to use an alias,  your comment seeing a provider is "like in taking out the trash" certainly isn't going to endear you to any escorts.

others, but it can happen to anybody.  A lot of guys leave and come back to the hobby, other just take a break for a month or two and recharge their batteries.

I find I also do the same thing with my other favorite activities, like riding my motorcycle, when I start to realize I'm not enjoying it as much as I should.

Most people will advise you to take a break from the hobby - which is good  - but that doesn't solve the fundamental problem.  The burnout comes from too many superficial encounters in which we try to feel connections with people whom we are paying to satisfy our temporary need for intimacy.

Unfortunately, it's all fake, except in the rarest of occasions.  Those memorable sessions where you stared in each others eyes are for the most part a meaningless ruse.  She's looking lovingly in your eyes, but thinking about what groceries she needs to buy for dinner.

It's nearly impossible for a prostitute to give you anything more than her body.  Many guys fail to accept this and believe their ATF really does care for them.  When you wake up to the fact that they care only on a very surface level your perception of the hobby changes.  You begin to feel jaded and burned out.  You stumble around looking for another ATF and history repeats itself.

This is a game in which investing emotion leads no where.  It's all about fucking.  Period.  Treat providers with respect but know where you stand.  Its a service and if you treat it as such and moderate your expectations you will probably enjoy hobbying a bit more.

Get a girlfriend!  I was ready, I wanted more than just a 2-3 hour encounter.  I was missing something in my life.  Finished up a crappy marriage and when I was ready I found a lady that was perfect for me.  Not to say I'm retired, cause I still look @ CV and occasionally here @ TER.  I just haven't pulled the trigger on any provider in quite awhile.  Try it out!  I'm not saying get married again......BECAUSE I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!!!   Find a nice lady spend some time with her and if you don't match move on!  Just my humble opinion.

I had a very stable life and a corporate job before deciding to become a provider.  No need to feel sorry for me.  I'll cut you some slack tho given you seem a bit down in the dumps...maybe I can help with that.  Ha!

Took a long break. When I returned I decided to see fewer ladies and hobby less often (amazing how much more money I have!). Developed genuine friendships with a couple - meaning we occasionally go to dinner or a movie, etc. without any thought of sex involved. Bottom line? I'm much more content and the sex is much more exciting when it does occur these days.
