I know this topic has been brought up on the site many times. why is it so hard to post a review here?? I've seen some reviews that are very small in length and some that are great detail (like a novel) get posted. I've tried a few times but my reviews always get rejected.. I have worked on adding extra details and nothing.. I'm no college gradute, but is posting a review that hard?? why???????????????????????????????????
that is the problem that I had in the past as well. I've been coming to this site since 2001 and posting comments on the forum... the thing that mosts gets to me is that some of the reviews are not that detail oriented yet they still they posted.. I can post on other sites and it matter of 24-72 hours and a "supposed" moderator reads it or approves it.. I agree TER is a special site, but think it should not be that hard to post a review.. I decided to give up and not try anymore.. TER was innovative when it launched... (ps: holding a white flas as I type this)
In effort against innocent as well as insalubrious influences tainting the reviews and its process a myriad of protocols (strict as well as discretionary) are employed.
An already established review history helps (and quantifies the universal "catch 22"); but it isn't a guarantee either.
If you're a first time reviewer, and the 'provider' you're reviewing has NO review history TER will at least defer it until you submit more reviews of other providers. There are many other such processes applied to both reviewer and who he is reviewing.
I bitch too on occasion; but not for the same reason. It’s a process, and maybe someday it’ll be flawless
I am a first-time reviewer, and I thought I knew how to write a review after probably reading a thousand and more; but in the process of submitting my first, I've had to revise it a few times. Since I'm used to working with editors, it's not a big deal, and I appreciate the patience of the moderators in helping a newbie along. Because of this, I have a bit more confidence in the reviews posted here. I look at reviews on other sites, but they don't seem to be as critical as those on TER. That doesn't mean there aren't bogus reviews here, but there is a lot more accountability when one is posted, especially by the other members.
I'm sure it's a matter of which person is reviewing your text. Most of my reviews fly through with no problem, but I had one get kicked back to me for additional detail. It was exactly the same as my other reviews, but this particular person had a problem, so I had to add more info. There are probably some TER folks who are easy editors and others who are hard asses. That's how it is in every line of work. I wouldn't get discouraged by it.

Hey; One time the person 'approving' the review was unfamiliar with some of the euphemisms I used in the review. I had several e-mail volleys with admin until all was straightened out and posted.
Sometimes for what ever reason TER seems quite inconsistent on some of their literary requirements (Much like reviewer's being quite generous with "Appearance" scores).
It may at times frustrate; but most times the problem can be identified and fixed.
While the accepted reviews may not follow consistent guidelines, if you follow the posted "Review Submission Guidelines" http://www.theeroticreview.com/info_policies/reviewSubmission.asp combined with addressing specific reasons (which you need to request) for rejecting your review, you should be able to get your reviews accepted. After the 1st one gets accepted, you should have figured out what it takes to get them accepted.
I don't know what your issues are, could be TOO much detail. Follow the guidelines. I have never had any major issues, the only time I've gotten a rejection, they sent me a PM telling me why, and I fixed it (I had given a high score, but did not give enough "merit" (like BBBJ) to qualify for the high score).
Make sure you don't provide and intimate information like phone numbers, location addresses, any personal information regarding the provider.
At the same time you have to be descriptive of your session. You read reviews, compare your review to reviews written by prolific reviewers (ahem) and try to figure out what you are doing differently. Too much info? Too little info? Are you using language that is may be offensive? Are you filling out all the proper info - website, phone number, etc.?
Are you submitting via your actual user name or using an Alias? That may make a difference, just a thought.
If you want to PM me with the latest review you wrote and got rejected, I'll look at it and tell you why.
