There is something about the pse type girl that is over the top and I guess for some they really like that. The loud moaning, the aggressive cowgirl or her yelling "yeah F me baby", I just don't dig it. I prefer to be with someone where it has more of a chemistry/date feel to it, even if the date is one of those one-night-stand feels to it. Myself, I prefer getting down with the girl next door type with some laughs, some flirting and some intense action.

I guess there likely are still a few well branded individuals that stick out among the crowd but I think a lot of the pornstar mystique has been lost.  That said I think there are a few adult film actresses that given the chance I would be with.  Maybe they had a particularly memorable scene for me; maybe the type of film I know her for is just exactly my kink; or maybe it's just that I've seen enough of her to know she has exactly the look I'm after (as opposed to a couple photos on an ad site with the face cropped or blurred).  If pressed I could maybe come up with three or four names that'd I'd get excited to have a chance with (and one because I'd want to have a serious conversation with her) but I'd bet none of them are actually providers.

But as to the generic concept of "porn star provider"?  Generally I'd pass.  I'll likely be with one - the right one, when I find her - as part of some imaginary hobbying checklist in my mind (yeah, sometimes I'm immature :p ) but in general when I see an ad for "PORN STAR XXX" I'm underwelmed.  Maybe I expect more from a porn *star* or maybe it's a matter of the term being loosely applied in the internet age, but I've found the bulk of the *normal* providers I've seen around here to be far more attractive than the porn star veterans.

I have never seen....nor is it likely that I ever will see a woman soley because she is or was  a "Porn Star"..... The fact that a woman is/was an Adult Actress does nothing for me and it does not stoke my ego (pun fully intended) to say that I am banging a Porn Star.

And it is the follow: assuming that an Adult Star has shot a certain number of scenes it make some difference to me knowing how she perform. I can see her in action and since I've a certain clue about porn I can determine if she fit certain requirements. Some guys think that what an adult star perform on camera is not going to be what she will perform on a one-to-one basis, but I never took this as a real issue. Looking carelly and studying some videos of the adult star I might be interesting in meeting gave me certain insights on her performance style that have been crucial to my encounters. And to me that make a key difference between an Adult Star and a regular provider. So far I've been pretty good on picking Adult Star:)

From both the replies to this query, and from the general tenor of most reviews, hobbiests appear to prefer providers who "act the part," recognizing that there are different roles for the broad range of patrons.  But the draw is the illusion of the experience (except for the most naive) that emerges convincingly from the performance.  When a provider has already been in the adult business, it is sometimes difficult to disengage the perception that she is an actress because one knows that she performs in the clip or video, and thus the session performance, for me at least, can be less compelling.  There are numerous exceptions to this observation, I'm sure, but as a generalization I think this applies broadly.

Porn star

I like the GND much better.  Pon Stars have an attitude and the GND must wants to make money and love...with no attitude.   Porn stars are with too many men, that's kind of a turn off and nasty.  They seem dirty to me, where te GND seems cleaner and has more of a wild side (if you are lucky)

It seems that some otherwise middling providers use their screen history as a way to justify higher rates than they might otherwise command.  Just my impression.

No. If price were not a factor, I don't know whether I would prefer a pornstar, simply because I am very happy with my current favorites and haven't had much experience with pornstars (I did see 1 pornstar, but she was charging about the same as nonpornstars, so I went for it. She wasn't overwhelmed because she was not advertising under her porn name and the ad picture did not show her face. She is no longer working, so don't ask me whether she's still available.)
