Craigslist buckled under because its adult ads were only a small part of its business. Sites like TER that are not based in the US won't face that type of pressure. I believe that TER is now based in the Cayman Islands. I'm not sure about Cityvibe, etc. but I would assume that if push came to shove they too would relocate their operations to friendlier confines. Let's just hope that the long arm of the law doesn't try to monitor and limit internet access.

Craigslist shut down adult ads, maybe permanently.  If its that easy, what's stopping the overzealous media and opportunistic politicians from going after TER, Cityvibe, thatmall, Citysource, etc.?  Its an election year and the conservatives seem to have the momentum so I'm afraid they'll go after every site advertising adult services.  They can't solve unemployment and continuing home foreclosures so they'll go after so-called "vices" ...am I just being paranoid or does anybody else fear the shutting down of Craigslist adult ads will enbolden these bastards?!

It already has in those parts of the country where sexually repressive philosophies (you are free to interpret that as RELIGION)  hold sway.

I think shutting down CL adult ad was just a response to popular media. Once there were kids involved there was no other direction for this to go. I'll prey these clowns leave other sites alone or else where am I going to chat all day. ;).

I heard the are going after CV and Back Page ... Eros is too large I hope TER is stable. I agree .. in a recession ... closing down resources that should be made legal anyway to tax it ! I do not understand.
