A juror in a sitting case can not discuss the case with anyone outside the jury room, cannot research on Google or investigate elsewhere, cannot write a commentary for a newspaper or other media, cannot give interviews, cannot give answers to questions and cannot discuss case with spouse or bartender or Larry King, cannot shout out comments about the case while in the throes of passion with an escort; just gotta keep them lips zipped! But when the case is over, anything goes....with Larry that is! Even notes taken in the jury room are not supposed to be removed from said room. As far as the Mr. Clemens' trial, probably an alternate will substitute unless the Judge sees jury contamination and then we will see a new trial.
So after having a wild and crazy Tuesday night and posting silliness on the Minnesota Board, I awoke to find that the Twin Cities had a ‘prostitution’ bust in one of the suburbs and arrested 9 men, charging them with gross misdemeanors. Including a 72 year-old man. Bless his passionate heart!
My question: what, if any, are the legal consequences of publicly stating your personal opinion on a subject matter? I pretty much said in one of my postings regarding this bust that I thought it was BS and the cops should find something better to do. I am furious! And it is BS!

not that yelling "FIRE!!" in a crowded theater & other such exceptions is legal. So much of the hobby is a discreet "wink-wink", keep a low profile... I would question the desireability of making less than discreet statements on a public forum which could draw more attention & heat. Since this country has seen fit to legislate morality... much as the Taliban has in another country... one must understand the game. Prohibition didn't work... DEMON RUM & the forces of darkness were victorious in the end.
On any public forum, you must assume that LE & others who might misuse the information may read it...
Without reviewing everything you posted, I doubt that anything could be held against you in a court of law. On the other hand, painting a bullseye on your back is not wise or discreet. Be very careful. skb
Well, I guess I’m #&!*ed - it wouldn’t be hard for LE to find out who I am; let’s just say that I have a high-profile professional background. So sad!!! Apparently this is America’s future. Even if you haven’t done anything wrong.
PS/ LB - hell yes I ‘thought’ my citizen rights included being able to voice a public opinion. As I said over in Minnesota, my father did not spend three years doing reconnaissance during WWII for our country so that today we are supposed to shut up and continue to allow our free speech to be taken away ………..screw that!

A juror sitting in on a case in Mount Clemens, MI, is probably going to be in some trouble for the message she posted on Facebook.
(From the AP) "A judge removed a juror from a trial in suburban Detroit after the young woman wrote on Facebook that the defendant was guilty. The problem? The trial wasn't over. Hadley Jons, of Warren just north of Detroit, could be found in contempt when she returns to the Macomb County circuit court Thursday."

if you don't tell your spouse what went on in court she will not believe you were there and next thing you know you have a divorce on your hands but a lot of free time for the others
