How to search and browse arrest records online?

I would like to be able to search and browse records for prostitution-related arrests in cities where I hobby. Just in order to keep aware and up-to-date on the lay of the land. I haven't had much success so far. Checking newspapers seems to turn up only occasional stories. Likewise for 'Police Blotter' sections some papers have. They aren't at all comprehensive.

I've come across a few national or regional sites featuring sex crimes that, again, are spotty and hard to search. There is a site for the Mecklenburg County (Charlotte, NC) PD, linked below, that lists all arrests, but they don't seem offer a way to narrow the listings by type of offense or to get detailed reports about each arrest. Can anybody here hack more out of it?

Years ago in a different place, I knew about print publications that did nothing but list all arrests and court proceedings for a community. However, I don't have the time to go around and collect them, nor to visit the different courthouses.

Has anybody had any success with doing this elsewhere online?

Some are more restrictive than others.

I would suggest putting that into a search engine and finding out who can and can not access these files and under what circumstances.

For example, in my business we often have to send people to work in occupied school buildings and those people need CORI clearance to do so.

We end up contacting an agency that is empowered by the state to do the research and they let us know who is and who isn't allowed to work there.  The specifics of whatever crime they were convicted of is not given.

(still not a lawyer)

Some brief checking seems to indicate that CORI is in Mass. only without much comparable in many other states. And isn't CORI more about sealing an individual's older criminal history from dissemination?

I'm mainly interested in keeping tabs on current and recent LE activity, not necessarily checking up on anyone in particular. Like I wrote, I believe this information is commonly available in local print publications. What would be useful is to find it online and be able to narrow it down to prostitution-related offenses and get a little info about each such arrest (location, time, etc.).

Now it may be that LE is not inclined to make such info available in a form that makes it easy for lawbreakers to monitor them. However, I've seen examples where they or the press or other parties have provided something close, just not quite what I could use.

Key words like escort, prostitution and the city you're interested in might work.  I use google alerts in my business to keep me aware of whats going on in my industry.

a more comprehensive tool. Something like the Mecklenburg site I linked to only more searchable.

I've never used Google alerts before, but just dinking around with it for a few minutes, I can see it'll save me some time I've been spending scouring various news sites. Thanks!
