I have several questions about an escort’s right to deny hobbyist service based on sex, race, age, and employment status.
I do not know if it is legal for escorts to deny hobbyist based on race, employment, or age. I have seen ads where escorts states: No African-American men, No Law Enforcement, and Men over 35+.  I have seen White and Latino escorts posting “No African-American men” statement on their ads. I have also seen black women posting on their ads “No African-American men.”  I also have seen an ad where a white escort posting an ad saying white men only.
Can an escort refuse to book an appointment with a police officer, or detective?
Do escorts have the right to discriminate based on sex, race, age, and employment status? Can they be sued for discrimination for refusing service?
If an escort is a straight woman and refuses to serve women hobbyist, can she be sue for discrimination based on sex?
Do you know of any lawsuits where escorts been sue for discrimination?

are you kidding me? Why don't you go to a police office or judge and tell them that you will sue an escort for not seeing you, just because you're not a middle-aged white dude. They will laugh and throw you out. Even worst, they will ticket you with solicitation charge before sending you home.

Since this is an illegal activity (except for portions of Nevada) the laws would not apply.

One more example of your intellligence.  You just might be my first "Ignore"

I'd almost forgotten this jewel.  Took me a while to find it again.  Do you remember your BBFS post on the General Discussion Board?

There may not be any lawsuits over discrimination involving escort service because of the illegal nature of this business. Many potential clients will not dare to file a lawsuit against an escort for discrimination.  Yes, this practice of making statement on ads that denies service to clients based on race, sex, age, or employment status can be consider discrimination according to state and federal laws.  These anti-discrimination laws apply to businesses and business establishment.  The court will have to decide if escort service by an independent provider is considered a business.  If the court decides escort service by an independent provider is not a business, then the anti-discrimination laws do not apply. Until there is a court case or multiple court cases deciding this issue, there is no legal answer to your questions.

Excellent answer, but I think the principle is pretty clear. Escort service is a service offered to the public, and it's in interstate commerce, at least if the provider has a website, travels, or uses services like TER, backpage, etc. to advertise. If anyone did bring such a suit, it'd probably be a winner.

Why are you still posting your stupid shit?

As a business, she cannot refuse an appointment based on sex, race, age, etc. When he arrives, she is entitle to collect her fee for her time. However, the client cannot force her to commit an illegal act. BTW: Merely touching her without her consent could be considered sexual assault.

Have fun!

Tell one they have to see someone they prefer not to see and I hope she plays it back on them and brings a deck of cards to play GO FISH for an hour. After all you're only paying for her time right ?

ridiculous questions in my life! lol    Escorting is not a bank or a restaurant, where they are open to the public and shouldn't be allowed to turn anyone away based on color, religion, etc. Escorts advertise themselves and are free to see, or not see, whomever they please. I , personally, try not to turn away prospective clients based on age, color, etc. As long as a gent is nice, respectful, and  clean, I am happy to see them. But other escorts may have their boundaries and limitations on who they choose to see, and if they choose to not see you, then just move on. There are plenty of escorts out there who will.

Hugs,
Bobbi

This is some bullshit and reminds me of someone who would probably agree that arranged marriages should come back.

Its a hard enough biz for these ladies, and many times they are already with men that they don't want to be with, have no attraction to, have no genuine interest in, but they muster up that "passion" with those that at least fall into a category that they find acceptable for them, but now they should have to go even beyond that?

There are probably a million different personal reasons that ladies have for not seeing certain people, and they could range from they are married to a AA man and find the only way they can provide and not feel as though they are really cheating is if they only see white dudes, or to the fact that unfortunately it has been shown in medical data that the rate of HIV/AIDS is higher among AA's, although its quickly on the rise in DC and NYC for caucasion women (wonder why?) or that they just aren't turned on by AA males or that many men, although they don't admit it, won't see a woman if she see's AA men.

WTF does it matter what they choose, there are a million other ladies that will see AA men that are hot as hell and it is after all their bodies.

Shit, a long time ago women didn't even have to kiss clients, engage in any conversations outside of appt with them, they've given more and more over the years due to client demands, when does the demands that they give their absolute all ever stop and reality step in, that they are human beings and deserve some respect for what they do?

Real straight forward: if the underlying activity is illegal, you can't enforce any civil remedies!

If you were allowed to sue us for turning you down for whatever reason, it seems to me we would then be allowed to sue you for discriminating against those of us you find undesirable as well.
