... noticed.  But so what?  If 'the hotel' had noticed and cared what you were doing Security would have met you, served you with a formal Tresspass Warning, and (likely) escorted you off the property.   The bell hop was just horny.

I think the Bellman was just ready for some action too, but it doesn't hurt to be cautious.  I think you did the right thing, just be very discreet if you go back there again.

I have a ATF who I meet every week. Not wanting any paper trails with me (after a bad experience) I always have her get the room. We went to a place we had gone to a good bit only the last time shortly after checking in the manager called the room and told my ATF that he had called the police about her being there before and stealing pillows. We quickly discussed the matter at hand and decieded it would be best for me to scram and she went to the office. She called me about 15 min. later to say the "real" problem was he had checked her other stays and noticed through the electronic key in/out records that she had only stayed between 2 to 3 hours and it was never at night. She explained to him that she had used that motel to freshen up as she had customers she called on in the area and she just used the motel for that purpose as she was an outside sales person who drives up from another state. She told him she didn't like his attitude and wanted her money back (she got it) and didn't appreciate the hassle!!

So my advice to you is to not go there again and don't make a habit of frequenting the same motel/hotel. With the electronic age, bored bellhops and bored managers can cause a problem if they want to.

Either way, stay away from that place from now on and alert the community to the place.

It's bad news either way.

It was probably just a horny bell-hop...  but somehow, he had figured it out.  A preferable response would to have been outraged!  "What do you think I am?"  You might want to call your boyfriend back...  hotel staff hitting on you!  You could do so on the spot or from outside.  He should be told, if only to choose another location in the future.    

Something was not discrete...   There's always the chance of being caught up in a LE trap.  You handled it right...  especially since is was a surprize sprung on you.

I would not let one incident throw me but a hotel with nosey staff could be a problem in many ways.  I would pay attention...  Always pay attention.

Use as large a variety of hotels as possible.  Dress conservatively.  Stay low profile.

Do you use the hotel frequently?  The fact of the matter is hotel staff have a sixth sense about observing people. Sometimes it's just plain boredom.  Remember, you are doing nothing wrong by checking into a hotel whether you stay for an hour or overnight.  Unless it IS a sting, which is doubtful in your circumstance, the hotel wants your money much more than they want trouble with LE.  Be discreet and use common sense.  Don't draw attention to yourself.  If a hotel employee makes a crack like that politely ask him for his name and the name of his supervisor.

Some people are just plain rude but mean no harm. I have had a few smart-ass comments made to me while out for dinner with my ATF. One dick head even asked me how much I was paying for my date as I walked by him to go to the bathroom.

I would maybe try a different place the next time just in case this idiot bell hop is trying to cause trouble.  He may have no ill intent at all other than the fact that he is a smart-ass and a moron...

I was not staying at the hotel. In fact I have only been to that particular hotel once before about a year ago. There are hotels that I frequent often,but not this one.I did have to call the hotel several times on the way there due to confusing directions-this may have drawn attention to myself. Also, I tend to be somewhat "vocal",possibly the bellhop could hear me? I was shocked when he approached, I dress upscale and never want to come off looking cheap, as soon as I rode the elevator down I knew what my response should have been ...more shocked and personally offended.
Maybe I am paranoid,but I do think it could have been more than just a horny bellhop.
Ironically enough, a gentleman friend is staying there in a week. I would dress extremely conservative,possibly wear my hair up. I will not call for directions.I will retrain myself from being so"vocal"Should I feel safe returning? I hate to ask my friend to change his reservations. And I have only been to that particular hotel two times.It could have been a fluke, I tend to over worry about things like that

If you need to return to that hotel, very conservative dress (at least with the coat closed).  Yes, changing your look is a great idea.  
Background music.  My personal favorite is to place a boom box near the door...  aimed at the door...  so is not too loud in the room but covers more sound that way.

Bigger picture thoughts...

I've used hotels for dates with providers and civies many times when we just used the room for a few hours.  In this day and age, it is none of the hotel's damn business what I do or who I do it with inside the room I've rented from them.  Nor is it there job to question whether the lady I am with is there due to raging hormones or multiple Benjamin Franklins.

Unless you counted out the cash to the lady in the lobby or some other public area and were observed doing so (no one is that stupid), they have NO reason or standing to question you or the motivation of your guest(s) and you have every reason to be INDIGNANT if they do.  

Having said all that, a provider doing multiple dates a day in the same room is going to be noticed except in larger hotels where its impossible to keep track of the coming (pun intended) and going of visitors.  Sure, a small motel/hotel with live-in management (old? nosey? bored?) may not mind their own business and make an issue or inform the cops, its possible. They CAN ask you to leave at any time (assuming they refund your money) but accusing you of engaging in prostitution actually exposes them to slander litigation.  If they DID call the cops, what would the say?  A couple used my room to have sex for a few hours?  Yeah like thats uncommon!!!

I don't know if I really have a point here except that unless you are making a disturbance, hotel management has zero standing to question what you do in your room once they rent it to you.

then tell him why.  Absolutely.  YOU will not be able to relax in that location.  No gentleman would ask you to go through that.  

I would let the place cool off for some time elapse before returning there...  hopefully the rude staff will be gone.

Do you mapquest the hotel &/or use a sat nav to get there?  Would save calling for directions.  I don't want to have any contact with the management when visiting a hotel.  

I have asked dates for directions & many were not ready with a street address for my sat nav.  
Before I got the "girl in the box"...  I map quested the directions given.  I got on the street, looking for the even numbered address she'd given me.  The closest was a blank between 2 buildings on my left.  When I got out of my car, still looking left, she spoke to me from behind me...  from her location.  Very clever.
