A reiki specialist was found not guilt in a jury trial on Sept 28.
Its interesting because she was first booked way back in June of 2009.  She was charging the undercover  $.5.

LE or the DA waited until 2 weeks before the deadline for filing( they have two years to file in misdemeanor cases in Utah)

In the link you will find the court information, her attorney's voir dire(questions asked to the jury to see if they have biases), the jury instructions the judge reads to them, the minutes of the trial, and the official jury verdict and then the amended  massage therapy law passed this year (the words that are crossed out are words taken out of the old law and the words underlined are new words added to the amended law)

She was tried based on the old pre-existing massage therapy law.  So I don't know if a Reiki practitioner would win today with the new law ?

In the jury instructions  # 11 and # 15 are interesting.

I spoke with her on the phone a couple times and she told me she wanted to fight it and that they waited until just before the deadline to file.

She should be congratulated !!

I did read the first one laying out the basis of the charges and find that genital contact is included, yet the charges were not for prostitution, which seems a bit odd.

I wonder what would have happened had prostitution been the charge.

I would hope that the lawyers for the Goddess Temple people in Arizona might find something usefull to their defense in this victory.

(still not a lawyer)
