Provider busted. My cell number safe?

Found out that months ago one of my independent regulars was busted. Recently she was picked up again for not appearing. Should I be concerned about my cell number being on her phone? Text messgaes?

Phone is now disconnected, but I don't know if they'd try to come after me or if I'm just being paranoid.

As an indy, also my pref in the pin the tail game, the case will probably end with the escalation of her charges; but once again this is a good argument for a hobby phone also known as a hubby phone best kept secret from the hubby's wife. Of course the unknown is what made the twilight zone so interesting, but your risk is slight. Of course the jurisdiction you are in might affect the old messages use as evidence but I would not worry or let this cramp your style or member status, although you might avoid explicit texts in favor of mouth to ear. You can not get the flavor of the call by just examining the time sheet but those messages have a life of about one week before they are purged by most phone companies, whether they can be resurrected is a hello-weenie question of its own.

To summarize, your number being on her phone does not incriminate you. On the very remote chance that cops might call you to ask why your number shows up, don't tell them anything. That's your right, and if they had any cause to take you downtown to interrogate you, they would have done that, not phone you. Finally, get a hobby phone so you'll never have this worry anymore.

I don't know how cloners steal your number off the network, but they have their ways.  I didn't catch it for several months because I no longer receive a paper bill and don't always check the numbers called online.  But when I did, I found dozens of calls on my cell bill that I didn't make.

Given the fact that my cell phone got cloned with me doing nothing except using it, how could any cell phone activity hold up as evidence?

Also I apologize for posting this twice. When I posted it earlier I never saw it show up, didn't realize it was moved to the Newbie board
