From talking to a friend who is a dominatrix, it's a very very fine line. Lots probably depends, also, on the state and how the legislation is worded, but in some states I believe that ANY touching of a "sexual nature" could be considered prostitution. Hence restrictions on lapdances in some areas and the "three feet rule" in some strip clubs. You can't pay the girl to grind on your lap because that is a sexual form of touching, and thus falls under prostitution laws.

But like I said, I bet it varies from state to state!
