Simply put...YES
AZ Misty See my TER Reviews 4116 reads
posted

During the whole DD investigation and bust it was discovered that LE had/has reviews here ...at least in AZ.

And no we ladies have NOTHING to do with reviews.  We see them when everyone else does.  If we read it and believe it is false, we can report it to admin and ask to have it removed.  But some don't even bother to read their reviews or contact admin or admin does nothing about the compliant.

Just wondering if this really happens. How does TER handle reviews? Do they have to get approval from the provider that the review is legit before posting it? Thanks for any answers.

To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing to prevent such activity any more so than anybody else posting fakes... And that happens all the time judging from what I read on various boards.

It is not only possible, it has happened in the past on at least two other review boards (which shall remain nameless).  The fake reviews were used to "establish credibility" in undercover sting operations.

wow. i am sure the police are extending their resources so wisely. the case of the girl being kept for 13 years captive by a sex offender and the police officer excuse when he was called to check out of a report of a sex offender having children backyard AND that he didn' t check out the backyard because he was just to busy. yes LE can extend all the time needed to prevent two people from enjoying IN a service which is benefitical to both. THIS SITUATION EFFECT REALLY NO ONE BUT THE PROVIDER AND THE HOBBIST.. YES I AM SURE GLAD LE SPEND TIME TO WATCH OUT FOR ESCORTS AND IF NEED BE TAKE DOLLARS AWAY FROM MURDERS RAPIST CHILD MOLESTOR POTENTIANL TERRORIST. THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT

tony9inc, I for one will agree that prostitution is by far less harmless when compared to rape and murder but don't blame police officers for busting prostitution.  They are only doing their jobs. They can't just arbitrarily say that they are not going to enforce a certain law because it's harmless.  That is not their job and by law are not allowed to.  And if you think this hobby only affects the hobbyists and providers, you are living in a dream world.  Last poll by TER showed 50% of hobbyists are married or in a committed relationship.  I've seen that number as high as 75% at one time.  I've read enough stories where our "innocent" hobby has destroyed marriages and families.

However, I still believe that it should be legal because most of the criminal organizations are being pushed out since the proliferation of the internet.  And as you said, it would also free the police to go after more pressing problems such as child prostitution.  But if you are so passionate about how "harmless" this hobby is, then turn your focus on getting the laws changed.  Write your congressman.  But finger pointing to the police is unwarranted and unjustified.

Entrapment is activity by LE which would "cause" a person to commit a crime that he or she was not already predisposed to commit.

So, let's see... client becomes aware of a provider's contact into by reading the web.  Client visits and reads reviews that he/she believe represent the activities he should expect.  Client contacts the provider and obtains location info.  Client goes to the location.  Client is confronted by LE.

Now you feel that just because one of the reviews read by the client was actually posted by LE that somehow this means that LE entrapped him?  That's sort of like arguing that the gun committed murder, not the person who pulled the trigger, isn't it.

If youve been around long enough you can smell a fake review. Look for glowing reviews of new providers with photos that look like theyve been lifted from porn sites.  Then check the reviewer, if its the first and only review its more likely to be fake. As for this being a tactic of LE...highly unlikely as its time consuming and not needed. All LE has to do is post something on Backpage or cityvibe and dudes come crawling out of the woodwork.  If you look at prostituion arrests where I live they all happen on the same  day every couple months which means they set-up a sting with either a street walker or an on line ad advertising an incall at a motel. Not the way of the old days where they would pick up street walkers every night.  Most girls have taken their game on line.
Like everyone says--stick with the providers that have been reviewed at least a few times.

It seems like you the provider should have more input/say/control over your reviews. Although, as I am typing this concerning fake reviews thinking you should be able to delete fake ones from clients you didn't actually see, I can already see a reason not to have that ability - some providers would probably delete "real/true" reviews that were not flattering. But you should at lease have the ability to post a "rebuttal" of sorts to your reviews which would let you at least say you didn't really see the client even if the admin doesn't remove it. (It would also allow for corrections and explanations in reviews like the other site that begins with an "e" does)
