I saw this on the news and thought well he made his point! He did what we all want to do sometimes. I know I surely would love to have that tractor some days to clear traffic on RT 95 in MA.
After the initial disbelief, I laughed and then thought good for him. Thank god some one else did it because wowie! I sure as hell wouldn't be that crazy!

Who is liable for the est $250-$300,000 in damages?  Could this cost his parents the farm.   They pretty much have no choice but to throw him under the bus.  (Claim tractor taken W/O permission)  Just saying...  
Wouldn't it have been smarter to steal a tractor or heavy equipment from a construction site...  and walk away?  (Wear gloves, Stupid!)  At least pretend it wasn't you...

Either the sheriff's department or the insurance company could file a civil suit and place a lien on any assets of value he may possess if they win a judgement in court.
