screening?

I've not been in the hobby for long, but I had a first time request from a provider....
she said a friend of hers would be calling to ask me a few questions ...
like "what kind of car do you drive?"
"do you have a work ID that matches your DL?"

....I'm not sure I feel so good about why she'd want my car info or a work ID. what's up with that??

I suppose she is being super cautious, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

As long as she herself has plenty of good reviews to back up her legitimacy, then I wouldn't worry about it.

(still not a lawyer)

I agree mrfisher, as a provider i have only asked this question when it's someone that i am meeting for the first time and am getting a bad bug in my tummy about it a couple of min's before they arrive.  it doesn't happen often but that's one of the reasons i think that a prov. would ask.

Cops have two ID's their personal and the work ID.
the kind of car they drive does not matter
I've seen them driving BMW's with civie plates while on the job.

I saw a provider at her home recently. When I called to get directions, she asked what I was driving. I can only think that she wanted to make sure that what drove up was what I told her. As far as ID, I showed her my drivers license and military retiree ID and after that, all was well in Hobby Land! It's just an extra layer of precaution that some of them use. It's not an issue with me.

Disregard the above post. Didn't realize I had already answered it! Had a brain freeze from too much ice cream too fast!!!!

My question is... are the providers who are asking for vehicle and ID information screening you otherwise? This sounds like many of the Eros & CL providers who do not require provider references and need to semi screen in some sort of way.

If you have 2 provider references and the references can verify your email address/ telephone number is valid or if you PM a lady on site that vouches clients, there would not be a need to check IDs and vehicles.

No, that was the only screening information she asked for. She had my phone number and email address, if that counts.

I would pass on a lady like this. I don't see any benefit to her in asking about a vehicle or work ID.
I would be a bit curious about who this "friend" is. If she uses an agency, a booker or whatever I would expect the same amount of honesty up front that she expects from me.

If any ladies out there have a theory as to how this additional step would help you I would love to hear it.

Asking for work information is standard, but I don't know about work ID.  The car thing - I'm guessing maybe she wants to see if the car you describe matches the one you actually show up in?

Does that have anything to do with my troubles arranging a date?

I drive one too. I've never had any issues getting a date but I tell them in advance so they don't freak out when I pull up.

I had an appointment with a provider last Friday. When I called to get directions to her house, she asked what I was driving. I presume she was watching to make sure it was the same thing I told her. Didn't bother me cause I figured she was just being careful.

I can certainly understand why a woman seeing guys at her house would want vehicle information.

I went to see a girl and I had no problems with showing my ID and a credit card.I was safe and I had a good time I went to see the asian girl in cleveland it was very well put together when she checked the ID and credit card.  They wanted to make sure names added up right.  I dont blame the girls  I had some big problems with girls ripping me off

thanks for understanding!  i thought of another reason i would ask.  what if the guy showed up in a "pimp mobile"?  why the heck would i want that in front of my house. lol.  just kidding.

I have seen ladies at their home, appts & incalls...  where they had a window which over looked parking or the place to make the second call.  One gave me directions which took me nearly around the block but parked on the other side...  Another gave me a non-existant house number on the other side of the street...  she called to me and said "Turn around" & we went in.  I still see her.

Clearly this is the final screening.  Different way of doing business but I don't have a problem with it.

come to think of it...there were two occassions where i was on my way to an outcall and when i got there not only did the gentleman not pick up his phone but he gave me the wrong address.  mind you, i drove to a particular part of the city for this.  i come ALL the way from the barrington area.  that was some time ago when i just started in this business.  i've learned a lot since then....

When I go to meet a lady for the first time, all I have in my pockets are the donation plus a small amount of spare cash and one legitimate, government issued, ID that does not even have my address on it.  Call me paranoid or whatever but I am ready for the worst case scenario of being rolled.  The last thing in the world I want is her pimp having my name and address.  Maybe far-fetched but I can imagine blackmail to not contact my spousal unit. Bottom line, no way in Hell am I showing her a work ID or even a Driver's Lisc.  In the unlikely event I get pulled over coming or going to/from her place, I'll happily pay the ticket for failing to have my DL on me.  If she insists on more info, SEE YA... there are plenty more girls out there.

and there are plenty of girls out there that will eventually get you busted. carelessness is not a question in this business.
with a reputable provider who does require certain questions be answered, you won't have to feel as 'paranoid' but when important questions are not asked...you're better not leaving your house and spending your hard-earned money unless elsewhere includes bail of $100.
happy hunting!

Hey guys.I always check for an ID. The reason I do this is because in the state of Georgia the id says how much you paid for it.Police and goverment workers do not pay for their ids.Its for my protection.thought you guys would like to know this tid bit of info

if it is someone that I dont know I may require a work id it is another form of identification. I do screen switchboard and intellus background if they get squirrely about it then I tell them to move on. Im more concerned of a sexual predator/murderer than the LE. Since my internet days I never have been with the LE, they may call but I can pretty much tell by the phone. However they are getting more sophisticated. In my past, before I came indy web provider, I ran into LE but never got arrested. Because I never mentioned money, services and if I felt it was not right i got up and left said I got the wrong room ect, never had a driver, never drugs on me and a clean record. Two let me off one night only because I did not have drugs on me and I was nice. If you work in computers you will have one. sometimes I ask what you are driving just so I know what you will drive in so I know it is you, I usually do this at times. I prefer those who have two references or vip member or pre verified the id will tell like with date check i love that place I cant wait til TER can post our tour dates up and ect for vip members to view!!!
