Crossing state lines

I have thought of going to another state with a less zealous AG to hobby in less danger. But it has crossed my mind: suppose the worst happened and I was busted. Would it be a RI offense because it was committed there, or a MA offesnse because that's where I'm from? It happens that way if a MA kid goes to some other state and gets cited for speeding.

talk of the Mann Act came up, because the gal crossed state lines.

I don't think I've ever heard of a guy being popped because he crossed state lines, but perhaps the literal reading of the law would support it, not that I have read it.

I think you are overthinking things.  If you want to avoid getting busted, just see well reviewed gals and relax.

(still not a lawyer)

If you get ticketed for speeding in RI it's a crime in RI, not in Mass.  If, however, your automobile insurance is on a policy written in Mass you WILL get points on your driving record and it will get you a surcharge on your Mass auto insurance.

As far as hobbying well, that's your call but I think the best way to get caught is to fool yourself into thinking that you have nothing to worry about.  Hobbying in Mass is perfectly safe as long as you stick to established and well-reviewed providers.

And why she thinks it is any safer in RI behooves me, I wish her a bunch of luck with that mind set. One must be mindful all the places they work. FYI RI is no safer than any other place, if you get caught slipping you get caught PERIOD. MA has more people, more police, more space, more arrests but in actuality less chance for safe ladies to be touched because it is so much bigger. RI has a very small community lending more chance of danger to ladies, if you understand numbers logic you will understand what I mean. Be safe,
Love, Joi

Indoor prostitution was not prohibitted under RI law until recent years (due to a court ruling on language in the original statute).   The law which replaced it is very strict.   I do not see any advantage to working or hobbying in either state.  Proper screening to avoid LE is essencial in either location.  Discretion is always the watch word.
