I came out of a late night session at a motel with a provider and right when I walked and turned the corner there was a cop waiting outside. I just walked right past him but he watched me get into my car and drive away. Is there any chance this could come back to bite me later if they didn't arrest or stop me when I got out of the motel room? I really have no idea if he was even there for that reason but it just seemed so suspect. Any input ASAP would be appreciated.

Could be, speculatively, particularly if they photographed you or got your tag number. The provider could testify against you, hypoothetically. If it turns out she was under observation because she has the plague, or avian flu, the CDC may have reason to track you down.
Those are all implausible scenarios. Never heard of such a thing in real life. Walk it off.
dont worry, it was probably a coincidence the cop was there,and if you were going to be arrested, he would have done it right then and there

Don't worry about if this, if that, assume it all, he was there observing, he was there saying " I am watching and I know", he can't arrest you because he doesn't have enough proof to make an arrest. How many people go to motels, as lovers, mistress, alot. You could have stuck to that story to and they can't pressure you about details. It's none of their buisness. They can only ask, doesn't mean you have to answer. This is the one thing people forget you never have to answer to a cop by law, only your name. You did the right thing playing it off and walking by ...just next time be exceptionally careful.
Don't blame just the girl, both parties are taking the risk. Both parties are responsible.
Unless she's a supected terrorist, and it was Homeland Security that was watching you, I wouldn't give it a second thought.
