For the most part, if any part of her body touches any part of your genitles, or vice versa, that's a sexual act and if money changes hands, bingo.

Some wordings are so vague that even an activity like kissing or even holding hands could be construed as sexual activity.

Sexual stimulation involving fondling of genitals is considered to be prostitution in many states.  The chances are that what happened to you in that dance booth is prostitution but it's simply not being enforced.  This is not all that uncommon.

In general dancers know what is safe to offer without fear of local LE trouble. Sometimes however things can change quickly. Several years ago girls in Tampa started getting busted for prostitution for doing less than what happened to you.  It was an election-time crack down tied into new ordinances.  I haven't heard much about it for a while so I don't know how the situation resolved itself but it just goes to show that anything CAN happen.

FYI it doesn't matter if you pay her extra for the "extras" or not.  If you payed her for a dance and got a sex act then you are guilty of paying for sex.

Based on what you said happened, both of you could be arrested and/or cited for lewd contact.  In order to be arrested for prostitution LE would have to actually witness the transaction where you paid her for sex. Every once in awhile LE in LA hits strip clubs and the violations are always for lewd contact.  If you have proper ID, don't have any outstanding warrants and you don't give LE a hard time, you will be cited rather than arrested. In most cases you can pay the citation at the court without getting an arrest record. It's about like getting a traffic ticket. I am referring to Southern California; other places might be different.
