We all must think as though LE has infiltrated every single board and every avenue of communication. It is well within their capability and does not require a search warrant to "observe" public information. That's the main reason to put as little as possible in posts, email or PM's. It's all on someone's server FOREVER!

I'm new to the hobby and this is my first post.  I've already benefitted greatly by reading the information and the reviews here, but I must say that it has occured to me that writing a detailed review is a form of self-incrimination.  Then again, as several other posters have said, if LE really wants you, they can get you one way or another.  But if I'm not caught in person, I wonder if it's a great idea to write a little story about what I did and post it for all to see :)  I'm still sorting all of this stuff out, so forgive me if I sound overcautious.

Anyone can join TER, so it's hard to think of there being any sort of safety by knowing that someone is on TER.  Everything said here is publicly available, google even indexes the discussion forums (search for your username and TER to see what you've been posting recently).

Possibly what you are asking (but not what the troll on the DC board meant), is if LE has handles with substantial numbers of reviews of legit providers that would make you believe that the individual was a legitimate client.  That's a good question to which I don't know the answer.  I think it certainly would be possible to do.

some hobbyists reportedly used an agency and because of their favorable reviews were reportedly given "VIP" status by the agency, which supposedly meant that they were given discounts on future visits from that agency. Their "VIP" status was recorded in the agency's computer system, which was seized in a raid.

Under Arizona law, "encouraging prostitution" is a crime. Prosecutors argued that writing a favorable on a forum and then receiving a discount from the agency made them guilty of "encouraging prostitution" in that case involving that agency.

As I never saw anyone from that agency or any other agency, and have never been given "VIP" status from an agency, and never received a discount from an agency, I am not worried about being prosecuted for "encouraging prostitution" with that agency or any other agency.

But some hobbyists who used agencies in the past and wrote reviews are still worried as the law has a 7-year statue of limitations.
