This article is SO refreshing!
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10487745/Oregon-GOP-gubernatorial-candidate-running-admitting-wife-swingers.html
The Number Two GOP candidate for Governor has not apologised for his (or his wife's) membership.  This is a good thing!  We all remember Elliott Spitzer's humiliation from being outed for purchasing sex.  Times are changing -- and changing for the better.  Here's a candidate who will NOT apologise for his (heretofore "immoral") actions.  Bully for him!  If we all stand up then perhaps sex work, sex workers, and the whole industry can come closer to mainstream.

Pulliam and his wife engaged in perfectly legal sex. Spitzer engaged in illegal P4P. That's not awful but it's still a crime. But what makes it worse is Spitzer was an anti-prostitution crusader who thought his own laws didn't apply to him.
So the situation you cite, while interesting, bears no comparison.

Spitzer in particular went after several agencies on "enterprise corruption" charges which was total overkill(but interestingly the main if not only avenue for the AG's office to get involved as the AG normally doesn't have prosecutorial powers over the prostitution related sections of the Penal law).

It is "interesting" to see the changes in enforcement(i.e. less) in the past few years as public attitudes have changed especially in Manhattan although I don't think the mods like this topic being brought up. It is simply a fact that almost no one(3 people?) have been arrested in the borough of Manhattan on prostitution related charges in the past years since a new DA was elected.

Spitzer managed to avoid being prosecuted under the Mann Act for transporting gulls across staid lions for immoral porpoises.

People at the Emperors Club agency were charged under the Mann Act:

I have no problem with Oregon gov candidate Pullium and his wife testing out the swingers scene and not lying about it.  However, looking further into his campaign, it turns out that he's a pro-Trump election denier and has made some extreme allegations on that topic.
