No LE on a sting ought to be doing a better job than parking the car in an obivious place.  On the other hand, one does not want to do something stupid right in front of a cop who might be there for another reason.
I HAVE seen a lady after spotting LE outside the hotel...  but not before I drove away & called her from the local McD.  She assured me that LE was patroling periodically at the request of Hotel Management due to thefts from guests cars.  We had a great time.

Before I meet a provider I do a Google search for the provider’s phone number. If I see that the provider has been advertising for some time, has been advertising in several websites and has been travelling in several cities, I feel more confident that the provider is not LE. I think if she is a LE, she would not have such record. Also before meeting a provider I make a couple of rounds around the hotel. I think if it is a sting operation there would be some LE activities outside the hotel. I am not sure what I am doing is really helpful in avoiding a LE encounter; your comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

in selecting a provider based on a good track record regarding reviews.

For example, LE could establish a history of credibility with phone numbers in ads, and the LE activity you speak of could all be unmarked cars.

Or as in my case I once was seeing a lady who I knew was legit and had arrived early. while waiting in a nearby fast food  parking lot. I saw a lot of activity from what were obviously plain clothes police in the hotels parking lot. Since they were around a different wing of the hotel then where I knew the lady was staying I went past them and right on in when it was time. After a wonderful time I found out later they were police in town for a conference and they just happened to have rooms in the same hotel. What helped me not to worry is having attend many a conference myself I could tell meaning less gathering before going to your room even when it involved the police and I had done my research on the lady and knew she was ok. Now if I had seen stealthy activity or someone had followed me in and up the stairs it might have been different, but not all police activity is related to this hobby.

I drove away and called the gal.

It turned out that the son of the King of Saudi Arabia was staying at the hotel (Not the Ritz!?) and was there for the wedding of some relative who attended school in Boston, and that's why all the LE.

I decided to take a chance and went back.  No problem encountered.  She was a gal I knew pretty well however.

I agree that a history of ads can be a good indicator in the absence of solid reviews. However, I'm too concerned about drawing attention to myself to be casing the hotel that much. If I happen to spot something, I'll proceed (or not) with caution. Either way, I'm not sure how I would know an undercover operation if I saw it.

Don't talk about money!  Don't sit on the bed and pay!  The camera is pointed at the bed. Wait till the end to pay.

Not fool proof by any means, but if a provider is asking you to sit on the bed and is openly talking about money, you had better know her really well.

Providers....do your homework. And if someone starts clearly talking about money and complaining that the last girl took his money and ran......Don't take the money.

LE wants you to CLEARLY offer money for sex.

Not fool proof, but at least you can make it harder on them. Don't be afraid to bail on a situation.

You can read my earlier posts on an in-depth walk through of a bad situation about two posts down.

I got this info straight from an UC LE....

stupid criminals will try to rob a bank with a uniformed cop standing in line.   It's not a protection but can avoid the "Oh, crap!", moments.

LE is not going to hang out in the parking lot or lobby where they are noticable... they don't want you to be able to identify them if they are conducting a sting.. in most instances where there was LE in the area, it was for something having nothing to do w/a sting operation.. and w/all the different undercover cars they have now-a-days, good luck IDing them... I saw someone being pulled over last summer by an undercover driving a red corvette/trans am(one of those little sports cars), lol... bet the person speeding never thought in a million years they were LE doing speed traps.

Thanks everybody for very useful comments. It appears there is no foolproof way to prevent a LE encounter. Looks like only thing one can do is to be diligent to do homework.

it is the only 100% fool-proof method of staying out of trouble.

you can not avoid the police.
you can reduce the odds of a police encounter but I only like to gamble with money, not my freedom.

I live in arizona, which is one of the most legally aggressive states against the hobby.
For a first offense, there's a mandatory minimum of 2 weeks in Tent City Jail, known as one of the worst jails in the world.

They've stung me 5 times but I've never been bitten.
I'd never break the law.
