This is how they distort reality to get people worked up.

You tie the thing you want to vilify, like prostitution, to something else that's so egregious that everyone can agree it's bad- like sex slaves.  The objective, of course, is to short-circuit rational discussion and create the impression in people's mind that prostitution equals sex slavery.  We can all agree sex slavery and human trafficking is terrible, therefore, all prostitution must be eliminated.

For those who haven't been paying attention, the same tactics have been used more and more lately by groups advocating extreme positions.  A few that come to mind are the abortion rights debate, gun ownership rights in the ongoing battle against the Second Amendment, and by those promoting the global warming agenda.  It's become impossible to have a rational conversation about any of these subjects- and that's exactly the point.  They want you to react, not think.

It's the oldest trick in the book and people keep falling for it because they're easily manipulated and lack critical thinking ability.  Fortunately, most of the people on TER see right through this sort of crap.

here in Cleveland, Ohio was on Friday at 11pm  pointing fingers at Scene Magazine and BACK PAGE!!!

Most reporters are just ass wipes for the politicians,local,county and city government. For those of us who know the True History of exchanging genitalia for $$$$,wedding ring or fame. The press tends to favor who they darn well like when the wind blows in either direction. Since the 1980's the Yellow pages across the USA have advertised ESCORT,MASSAGE,ADULT ENTERTAINMENT since 1986. If this trade is so Illegal how come the Yellow book,Bell South,Verizon yellow pages and etc haven't been removed? Or pressured into Not advertising these subjects in their Telephone books? The majority of teenage runaways are working along with pimps and I doubt if you will find a profile of an underage teen on TER?. Americans are typical into buying in to the phenomena that most ESCORTS,CALL GIRLS,Dominatrix,STRIPPERS,ADULT FILM,WEB CAM,MASSAGE girls. Are habitual drug addicts,molested by their high school coach,incest victim by their father? Wrong again and again. The money is what draws females into this business in part the average paycheck at 210.00 a week. Is so petty and will hardly make a dent if you reside in NYC,LA,Las Vegas,etc. Min. wage will only suffice for a individual renting along with others in college. Yes the pimps who abuse young teens should be put out of business as well as the child molesters. Who peddle sex tapes of underage 3yr olds-12 yr olds: (that trade is filthy and those bums should be buried under the jail). So adults over 21 go out and Vote..tell LE & the government to stay OUT of our BEDS!!

Once again blaming an advertising mall for their problems with what two consenting adults do behind closed doors by using the guise of human trafficking to back up their claims.

A couple of months ago I went to a screening of this documentary : http://sexandmoneyfilm.com/ in NYC . It was through the Human Trafficking Awareness Council that I am part of.

So a few minutes into the documentary I got this really weird feeling that I was watching an anti prostitution propaganda film, but I decided to finish watching it and wait to hear the expert opinions from the panelists and the reactions from audience.

Long story short, one of the 'experts' mentioned that he had never encountered a prostitute that choose her profession or who was happy doing it. They did such an amazing job in painting such a horrible picture of us, it made me so upset.

I ♥ what I do. I meet amazing people and now the audience came up with suggestions on how to stop trafficking by going after ALL 'the Johns' , like a witchhunt.

I joined this HTA council because I think sex slavery and human trafficking are horrendous crimes that deserve our attention. I just realized that after seeing this movie, the general public needs to get educated on the difference between forced prostitution/ slavery vs a [business] relationship / transaction between 2 consenting adults.
