Do you think an undercover cop would go as far as using a politicians name for a set up? Why I ask is because I just noticed an old email I was sent I never really paid close attention to it before. The email was GovPatersonDavid at gmail About a year ago I was advertising on "verified playmates" which is actually a great site with lots of traffic but I was receiving all kinds of bogus emails that I know where not legit so I dumped the profile. So I just ignored this one like I did the rest but I usually keep them for reference. Recently its been starting up again so I was looking at all the emails cross referencing everything as I do. As I just noticed that particular email and I was like, no way... that can't say what I think it says. So I looked up the name to see if this person really exist and he does. He is on Wikipedia.
However I don't believe he personally was contacting me. I have experienced many elements of surprise with law enforcement so there is no surprising of what they can and will do. As I learned they will go to far lengths to booby trap a provider but to go this far pretending to be a politician if this is the case. Is it even legal for them to do that? Isn't it misrepresentation?

First of all I am not paranoid I have no reason to be. I have dealt with police on many occasions so nothing they do will surprises me, they get away with a lot of things, even judges know they lie on police reports and look the away. Don't tell me there not from LE because you DON'T know that!
I doubt they phishing emails because if they were then "verified playmates" would have caught since the emails are forward to me from them. Maybe it is from some loser guy off the net males do like to play sick pranks! Don't they?

Since you asked, yes, it is perfectly legal for cops to misrepresent themselves. Without doing so, undercover investigations would be impossible. Knowledge of this should be textbook Provider 101.
However, they wouldn't waste their time trying something so obvious as pretending to be a prominent politician. No to mention risking the embarrassment that would follow if it ever came out.
Your "Gov. Patterson" is probably either a hobbyist who thought it would make a funny handle or just a prankster.
I've had many emails with celebrity names usually I dump them too. The other thing that bothers me is back when they did the MN nice guys/MFP bust is those fuckers were using several made up email addresses using well known TER members handles to try and fool other ladies in the biz that weren't even members of MFP to do more stings. I figured it out after quietly PMing the actual handles here about their query for an appointment, that confirmed my suspicion. You're not being overly paranoid. You're smart for declining an inquiry from someone whom can't even use their own identify.
I have been in this game for many Years..Seen good people go down for hideous junk/reps ruined in the newspapers!! That is the reason why I am Not so welcoming to New sisters and the Donors. Those Website memberships can't verify the guy..People can hack into sites or scam another to view Handles,profile data. Im thanking H-id- Fleiss for teaching me how to build a network,,,and stay true to my Sisters @ Arms. Yes we work UTR ..but we never have the Drama.that effects most. People stealing pictures,bio data and etc. My Info is for people that I have known since 1998,2001,2005,2008. Its sad that you must use caution to the extreme to stay safe.
