Does anyone know about Arizona law about solicitation of a prostitute?  What is the situation in Az?  Can you ask a provider straight out if they are LE and is this any protection?  I'm new and nervous, thanks.

You are close to NV, start there. No legal hassels.

1.  There are plenty of legal hassles in NV.  Prositution is legal only in sparsely populated counties and only in "houses" licensed by the state.  Las Vegas (Clark County) is not a county in which prostitution is legal under any circumstance.

2.  The original poster should be nervous.  Prositution is a crime; being a client is also a crime.  Criminal activity should make you nervous.  This is not an argument about whether or not prostitution should be a crime.  It is a crime and people get arrested, fined and jailed for it every day.

Just facts; like 'em or not, they're stubborn things.

... LE can lie to you in ANY jurisdiction.  You can ask the cop if she's a cop, and she can say, "Cross my heart, I'm not a cop," and then she can turn around and bust you anyway.

Was there ever a time when LE had to tell you the truth? So many people think that LE must confess if asked. Just wondering how this silly rumor started.

Yes, a female officer in Arizona can pose as a provider and lie to you about being LE (same thing for male officer lying to provider).

Phoenix is not as bad as San Diego, where the police will post false internet ads of ladies and then write "reviews" of them to make them look legit and lure clients. That's never happened in Phoenix.

However, the local county Sheriff's office did make a significant bust about 18 months ago resulting in the arrest of about 60 men and women.

Ladies who advertised by newspaper (not TER) were busted by undercover officers. Then female officers took over the phones and booked appointments for the unsuspecting clients who called later. When those guys showed up for their appointment, it wasn't quite as much fun as it should have been.  

The good news is that charges against everyone were dropped due to technicalities. There was adverse publicity over the amount of money spent and it's believed the Sheriff may not try that stunt again.

But there are hotbeds of LE activity still--areas like Chandler and Apache Junction seem to have the occasional arrest here and there.

In Scottsdale the police monitor the massage parlors carefully, but don't have any apparent interest in escorts. (In fact some escorts will only do outcall visits to Scottsdale hotels because of the LE tendancy to look the other way there).

Overall, Phoenix is relatively safe (and we have a lot of cute girls too!), but you'll need to be careful just like in every other city.
