Not that it happened to me , my question is, " if you were to get busted for solicitation of a hooker in a sting would you have to register as a sex offender after final out come of you pleading guilty or being found guilty?
Registration for prostitution would be both very draconian and also dilute the pool of those who are required to register, arguably making it less of a stigma. Note that the article is two years old.
The courts could get real crowded but being on a sexual offender register is such a draconian measure that people will fight it tooth and nail to try and get acquitted. Furthermore, I can see juries acquitting or getting hung up even if they believe the person is guilty of the offense in a process called nullification based on their not wanting to be responsible for destroying a person's life over an activity that is commonplace and not particularly damaging to anyone.
You can pretty much kiss goodbye any job that would be considered responsible, and any job that would bring you into contact with children.
In my state, Massachusetts, any person with a felony conviction is banned from being in any job where kids are present, and that includes doing construction work on school campuses.
