Well I want to visit an 'independent' as I have learned to stay away from agency/parlor types as its easy for LE.
So my question is if I choose the independent route & the young lady happens to keep a record of my name & phone #....if she gets busted a few years later then can LE obtain her blackbook/redbook & eventually bust me 5 or even 10yr.s later??

#2 what else do i need to know in order to stay safe if you will, w/respect to LE matters. Suggestions..?

LE unlikely can prosecute you successfully.  Most states have short statutes of limitations in which to charge someone for such petty offenses (i.e. less than two years from the date of the offense).  Some statutes might contain exceptions for "newly-discovered evidence" (i.e. your hypothetical address book).  Nevertheless, LE historically has little interest in retroactively prosecuting hobbyists not caught in the act in a sting.

Furthermore, they'd need her to testify against you to prove the occurrence of any illicit activities.  That's unlikely, considering that the provider ordinarily is the target of such investigations, not the hobbyists.

Your main concern unlikely is criminal charges.  Rather, it'd be the pending "DC Madam" type of community reputation issues should LE or the provider try to publish the book's contents.  Fortunately, many providers use discretion not to store detailed hobbyist personal info.

As to your second inquiry:

Do your homework here on TER and stick with well reviewed long term providers. Are you a VIP yet?  If not, become one.  It's a good investment.

This is the best way to bring your odds of arrest down as low as can be.

Other tips are to be always disceet, especially in public places such as a hotel lobby.  Do not make cell phone calls where anyone can overhear you and don't have a wad of cash in your hands as you walk through the hotel lobby.

Dress appropriately and if you are getting the hotel room yourself, don't come to the front desk to check in without an overnight bag.

Do not ask for a discount rate because you'll only be using the room for a few hours!

Some police departments ask hotel clerks for assistance in dropping dimes on suspicious activity so don't give the clerks any reason to suspect you.

If you see a bunch of Ford Crown Vic's parked around the neighborhood, just keep on driving by.

Keep reading postings here and elsewhere (especially the local boards) and stay up to date on LE trends.

(still not a lawyer)

They can't bust you 5 or 10 years later let alone the next day or two after.  The only liability you face in embarrassment or divorce.  Remember, you have no idea how your number was found in her black book and if you are questioned further, don't answer any more questions and seek legal advice from an experienced attorney.

Someone having your number in their cellphone or "blackbook" doesn't make you guilty of anything. I know of a hobbyist that received a call supposedly from LE about someone he had seen in another city when he visited..."your number was in her phone, how do you know her?"  His answer was...none of your damned business.
Unless you leave a paper trail (paying by credit card) that can be proven to be for "sexual favors" there's little they can do. They do think we are all stupid, however, and believe you'll just confess and make their job easier. Cops are incredibly lazy.
