Provider shows up at a meet & greet as part of her screening. No explicit or implicit emails or phone calls discussing money and/or acts have been exchanged. She is a well-known provider in the hobby. One or the other happens to be a vice cop. If the provider has been flipped and is now the cop, am I busted? Alternatively, if the “hobbyist” is a cop, is she busted?
Like we learned from The French Connection, you can always be busted for picking your feet in Poughkeepsie.
Sure you might get acquitted after spending tons of money on a lawyer, and your reputation might be ruined, as well as your marriage, so that is no great honor.
Best advice is to always avoid LE in the first place. Providers who flip however are a dangerous comodity. Just know that the law of averages is always on your side.
This is somewhat like one case in the DD bust of 100 in Phoenix. One person's felony plea reversed after being on probation six months. He as nabbed at a Meet and Greet, was only a customer. But they overcharged him and with threats of more charges (like felony money laundering as is happening now in the PGT case of 39 with min 5-10 years prison) - Out of fear of long prison time he pled to class 6 felony associated with criminal enterprise (DD). His parole officer believed him over time, and with a lawyer referral got his felony conviction tossed based on an overzealous prosecutor (like in current case).
He lost his job, had huge legal fees and had reputation destroyed in his home down by all the news article. He was a well known corp executive in a smaller town.
The main undercover cop later in the Phoenix big busts is very likeable, looks like a big breasted hooker and no one would guess she was a cop. Unforutantely she is a very good actress to fool guys as well a female escort agencies owners and managers - she is so friendly they open up like old lost friends. And all winds up in police reports and grand jury indictments for serious felonies.

No law is broken until the party who is not the cop solicits the other to exchange money for sexual services. The more explicit the negotiation, the better for law enforcement. It's best not to discuss sex at all with someone you do not know.
