M&G busts

Haven't found much on the aftermath of the ASPD party bust down in Houston a few months back.

Question.  Were all the party attendees arrested/detained?  And if they were, on what basis?

What danger is there for party attendees if LE busts a M&G because one person got caught soliciting?

Can you get in a jam just being an innocent partygoer?

Did any of this happen in Houston?

12 out of 120 were arrested.  7 ladies, 5 guys.  Ladies who were arrested were arrested because they offered illegal activities for money.  One lady was arrested for having drugs.  The gentlemen who were arrested were arrested because they were accepting illegal activities in exchange for money.

A meet and greet IS NOT illegal.  Offering sexual services in exchange for money is illegal.  Accepting offers of sexual activities in exchange for money is illegal.

Don't do anything illegal and you have nothing to worry about.  Have a drink, talk to everyone, MEET and GREET.  :)

Not a lawyer just know the laws.

I'm concerned about the obvious common link all of the attendees would have. If not immediately questioned about that,i wonder if the 'link' would give le grounds for further observation? Yeah like i'm that important. :-)

someone posted, make sure you are familiar with the law of criminal conspiracy in your state, ask yourself what is the purpose of a meet and greet, and review the Desert Divas indictments and some of the plea allocutions.

Making comparisons of the average M&G to the DD issue is pretty far reaching. The DD M&G's were private get togethers of shills and agency owners in order to promote their agency business. They were promoting prostitution as the evidence proved. Your comparison is therefore off base.

Having a M&G that is simply a social is not promoting prostitution.
We must also remember that escorting is perfectly legal, (in my state) and I contend that escorts attending a party is no different then having dancers or porn stars get together for drinks. Where is the illegality of having a legitimate profession attend a party? If you know something that my attorney does not know, then feel free to email me.

Ive never understood  why LE always thinks the worst of us. But, certainly where an agency is involved, I would avoid the M & G like the plague, not bc it changes the legality but bc it significantly raises the likelihood of LE surveillance and interest.

If your atty is telling you flatly that M & Gs are legal, then you need to get a smarter atty. Criminal law addresses what you actually do  not what you label it. You can contend you are meeting just for social purposes but the decision to arrest is made from the perspective of the arresting officer, the decision to prosecute is made from the perspective of the DA, and the decision to convict is made from the perspective of the jury.

Again, this is not to say that M & Gs are per se illegal but it is only prudent to recognize the risk from the standpoint of conspiracy law. And arrest for conspiracy is only one part of the problem  attendance could be used as probable cause for an arrest warrant in conjunction with other evidence.

But I am greatly encouraged to learn that these hot  ladies attend these gatherings not to promote their business but bc they genuinely enjoy socializing with us middle-aged and somewhat paunchy guys.

During those DD M & G's those girls openly discussed sexual things in exchange for $$.

So NEVER do that at ANY time.

We're not discussing a coffee clutch of blue haired bridge players here.  Any one person attending such party could bring media in tow.

Media doesn't care if you're actually doing something wrong at the moment.  Our elected officials are well aware of how to use media to further their careers.

Probable cause... easy.

Indeed, after further investigations, there was a second round of conspiracy / criminal enterprise indictments.  This is indeed cautionary.
Thankyou.
