Since it is a video embedded on the Yahoo home page, I can not copy and paste the link here, but the upshot is that a jury in one of the Carolinas just awarded $9 million dollars to the wife of a man who was screwing around with her.

The award was against the other woman, not her husband!

I hope this is tossed out on some grounds, maybe even Constitutional grounds, but the implications for escorts is clear, at least in states that have laws regarding this.

I saw that on the news.  Many states have done away with "Alienation of Affection" statutes...  apparently not all.  He claims it was an unhappy marriage, that he'd had numerous affairs.  Therefore, there was no affection to "steal".  If he was a faithful husband lured away by a temptress, she'd be liable.

A single provider meeting would hardly qualify...  an emotional affair, on the other hand might.  A Sugar Daddy, ATF, LTR...  check state laws.

Some states have laws entitling a spouse to recover monetary damages for alienation of affection and some don't. In those that do, ladies...watch out.
