I'm considering getting into the hobby in the U.S. (have previously only visited providers in countries where it is legal), and I'm a bit worried about legal risk. I've read a bunch about it and think I can take most of the right safety steps - but I'm wondering how often it is that people are actually arrested.
First off, well reviewed providers greatly reduces the risks involved. Second... if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Offers of service well below the going rate is either a scam, upsell or LE. "Specials" most likely are for lesser services or lesser time
Most client busts are Backpage stings involving young women with no reviews and a new ad, offering cheap incalls to cheap hotels. There are other busts, but if you partake in the previously-described trade your chances of falling for a sting eventually are very high, and if you avoid such situations your chances of getting busted are low.

I walked into a massage parlor, through the front door. It was full of cops who must have all come in the back. I froze inside the door until one officer said "What do you want here?". I managed to say a massage and he told me go somewhere else. I was shocked, relieved and might add, lucky. This was in Norwich, Ct in the 1980's.
